My new husband and I were really delighted at the quality and presentation by Executive Sous Jeremy and Chef Pierre of Little Louis' Oyster Bar and Bistro in Moncton. We wanted the best quality money could buy for our special day and WOW .... We were not disappointed. It wasn't the least expensive aspect of our wedding, but it was worth every penny. The reception table presentation was crisp and elegant against the classic white tablecloth and each morsel of food was fresh and of the finest quality. Best of all, no detail was overlooked by Executive Sous Jeremy who even included detailed instructions for presenting each plate properly. Since we were married an hour from Moncton they wouldn't be there to ensure the presentation was perfect, but still, they cared. Bless their heart, they even entrusted us with the loan of their own personal stock of Amuse Bowls for the Bisque and included matching plates and platters so everything was coordinated perfectly on the table. Selections included a lovely Fall Squash Bisque w/ Star Anise & Cinnamon, a creamy Dolce de Leche Cheesecake that was beyond tasty, a beautiful selection of appetizers and cold canape's (including their own Lavender Cold-Smoked Salmon) and a delightful Bernaise Sauce made with fresh snipped French tarragon as a side for my mother's poached salmon filet. Everything was just perfect. We found the service helpful, relaxed, timely, gracious and not at all pretentious. Chef Pierre made it easy to select the most complementary items to go with our main menu ... and he even reviewed the dinner menu in advance of the event to make recommendations on wine selections in our price range that could be purchased locally. We have dined in-house at this restaurant on a few occasions and would definitely recommend Little Louis for catering, meals or fine wines. Expect professional service, fine quality ingredients and a meal compareable in price, presentation and expertise to Montreal, New York or Toronto. It is not something we can afford to do often, but my husband and I agree that Little Louis is definitely a treat worth saving up for a few times a year when we come home to our camp in NB.
