This tour is the way to see the Hopewell Rocks and other Bay of Fundy wonders! The groups are small- ours was just 6 tourists. They organized the day so that you see several sights at the highest tide and then compare the same sights to the lowest tides. Our guide (Margot) was smart, energetic and funny. She shared history, geography and culture with us throughout the day. We had an excellent lunch at a seaside restaurant and visited a lobster processing facility. My husband and I enjoyed this day tremendously! Note: it was cool and windy the day we went. We were prepared for inclement weather. The tour bus had some blankets/rain ponchos available but best to be prepared. I think older children would enjoy this tour.

This tour is an excellent way to experience the enormous difference in the same landscape seen at high and low tides since we visit three different sites at both (in addition to around five other interesting sites (lobster tank, Cape Enrage, covered bridge/sawmill, winery) in between). Our guide, Margot, is a local and gave us an entertaining and candidly honest commentary about everything from the anatomy of lobsters to the history of the Acadians, the environmental damage wrought by early sawmills, and the origin of many local names. She paid attention to the comfort, desires and interests of her guests while keeping a tight schedule so we were able to see as much as possible and while hitting the main sites (Hopewell Rocks, Alma Wharf, and Harvey Shipyard) at both high and low tides.

Our sole criticism with the tour was that it was not made clear (until we were presented with bills) whether or not lunch was included in the tour. You choose from a menu and eat lunch as a group but are responsible for paying for your own meal and drinks.

Our first trip to the maritime area and it couldn’t have been better. The highlight was our tour of the Hopewell Rocks and the Bay of Fundy arranged by the Roads to Sea. Our tour guide was a sweetheart named Margo. She said that all of the company tour guides were excellent, but I don’t know how anyone could be better than Margo. She was extremely knowledgeable about the whole area and a wonderful conversationalist. She shared family stories and folklore that was great fun to listen to. The van we were in was comfortable and we felt very safe with her as a driver. She is a certified wilderness tour guide also so all-in-all we were in very capable hands. The day was wonderful, but she was delightful.
Signed, Your crazy friends from Maryland.

Thanks Anna-Marie for organising this wonderful tour to Hopewell Rock & the Bay of Fundy. Margot was a great guide, very knowledgeable on the history of the Province and the present day people and places we visited. We saw the very best of the Bay of Fundy’s magnificent coastline, the highlight being experiencing the world’s highest tides. Thanks again girls.

Anna Marie is a dynamo who bubbles over with enthusiasm and knowledge about the land she loves. She methodically took us to areas at low tide and then high tide so we could witness the highest tides in the world. She chronicled the history of the area, sprinkling us with anecdotes as we drove through the region. Loved visiting a lobster wholesaler. A bald eagle greeted us at one point and watched the tides with us. At the end, she gave us a card documenting the tides we saw. Everyone on the tour was energized by her and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Great tour.
