“Excellent Location with Comfortable Rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

I stayed at Chateau Moncton this past weekend and was most impressed with the room. It was very spacious, clean, quiet (despite being on the street side of the building), and comfortable. Breakfast and WiFi were included in our group's rate. The breakfast was impressive, offering eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, mini-scones, muffins, cereal, etc. It was kept well stocked and everything I tried was delicious. The bar offered a variety of drinks, but sadly closed at 11pm. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: This hotel caters to business-people. There is no pool.

The hotel is an imposing building adjacent to the Peticodiac River boardwalk. Our fifth floor room had a lovely view of the river. It was spacious and tastefully furnished. It had coffee and tea making facilities, mini fridge, TV, free Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and a nice bathroom. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet was good, although not up to the standard of some other hotels where we have stayed. Scrambled eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit and pastries were all fine. The bacon was not up to scratch but the sausages were excellent. The hotel was a very good value for the price.
Probably the best thing about the hotel is its location. There are nice walkways along the river in both directions from the hotel and it is a short scenic walk along the river to the town center. We had a great view of the tidal bore from our window at night and we also watched it from the boardwalk in front of the hotel during the day. The tidal bore is an interesting natural phenomenon and fun to watch, especially when there are surfers riding the wave.

I am mostly leaving this review because I stayed at two hotels the weekend of my stay and expedia put my bad review up for the other hotel I stayed at in the Chateaus rating. I have no complaints about this hotel. It was comfortable and clean. The room was huge. I didn't find it noisey at all. The staff was fantastic to deal with and very helpful! Nice televisions in the room. Breakfast was great. Overall it was a very good experience.

Room Tip: River side is quieter and you can watch the tidal bore.

Great hotel, clean, comfortable beds, close to everything. Watched the tidal bore. The only down side was our room key had to be re-programmed 3 different times. Breakfast was good and breakfast staff more than accommodating as she made a nice juice cocktail. Loved the walking trail.

Room Tip: Room on the south side as they have a view of the total bore

The views of the river and the Tidal Bore are amazing. We loved being able to walk along the boardwalk to the downtown of Moncton to restaurants and to the Saturday market. Our room was very large and very comfortable. The décor might have been a little dated, but it was very clean. The breakfast is included and had a wide variety of hot and cold items. It was lovely to eat breakfast and look at the river view. The staff seemed very nice and were helpful. We had a very nice stay and will go back to this hotel again very soon. We watched surfers come in on the tidal bore as we were checking out. They were filming for This Hour Has 22 minutes.

Room Tip: The River side rooms have lovely views and would be much quieter than the street side rooms.

Stayed here for a night while traveling through Moncton. While the place is a little dated it has been very well kept which makes this hotel a great value stay. We're on the 5th floor and watched the tide come in which was actually entertaining. Rooms come with hot breakfast which was actually quite good. Rooms were above averge size which would make this a good stay for a few days. All wrapped up a decent place to stay in close proximity to good eats/sights.

Stayed for the weekend and really enjoy the breakfast and room for a long stay! Great location in the heart of Moncton! Walking trail directly behind the hotel! There is shopping available just down the street in walking distance as well
