“Worked Great”

Room was drive up, which I loved, small room w/2 double beds, usual amenities. Clean, quiet, staff was great, outdoor "heated" pool wasn't very heated but that was fine. Breakfast was good, seemed well attended by the staff. One of the most comfy beds I slept on while on our 10day vacay. Booked w/Expedia too :)

Stay here. You get a supurb 4-star room and its quiet. Location is on the river so you see the tide roll in. City side is non sequiter but that's ok with a room of such high quality and quiet.
Worth the money and we stayed another night. You can visit the local casino down the road, eat at a Japanese restaurant or try local quisine. It's all good The more remarkable thing about the NB, PEI and NS area is the honesty of the people. It's real. The area has more common spirit of friendliness and enjoyment when contrasted with life in the USA which is more of differing states of frustration.

On another note - beware of purchasing gas when driving. I had to put a dispute on a credit card charge. This is the result but I tell you this same gas station had credit card transaction reservations nailing me for $152 on and off for two days, which could have mucked up my credit limit if it was not already a high limit card, which fortunately, is. When you contact Circle K, Irving and corporate you get nowhere. The only hope I was left with was the dispute which fortunately worked.

Room Tip: Call them on your cell phone before going in and ask for a standard room. They'll quote a queen...

We had planned to stay one night but chose to stay an extra night. It is conveniently located walking distance to everything downtown and free parking, We were in one of the renovated rooms which was lovely, king bed with nice bedding. The only concern was that bathrooms are a bit tight. The morning breakfast though abundant with great choices/selection was a bit chaotic (based on our knowledge the Rodd has had a challenge with recruiting staff). Overall we really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend as a place to stay and would stay again!

Room Tip: ask for a renovated room

This hotel was terrific! Very clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good location, great breakfast included, pool, choice of drive-up rooms, choice of pool side rooms, much better than what I expected from the name or price (called a "motel" and was about $105 a night for a double queen on Expedia). If I HAD to come up with cons, I'd say that the parking lot is weird, and regular access to the pool is inconvenient. It seems like there's limited parking when in fact the parking warning signs were put there by the hotel, for guests, but they failed to put the hotel name on the signs. When we were there the pool gates were locked so we had to walk around the entire hotel to get to and from the pool through the lobby. Other than these little annoyances, LOVED it!

Our reservation was cancelled in error, but that was the fault of Expedia, not the hotel. The hotel was very accommodating in getting us set up comfortably. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided everything we asked for. The room was spacious, clean and modern. Loved the bathroom! We had a fridge and a coffee machine, which was quite a novelty. Great idea too, as we three ladies all liked something different. The hotel offered a hot complimentary breakfast so that held us over so we could do lots of shopping. The pool was outside, not as clean as I like it but there were lots of kids in the pool so that probably was why. We stayed there a number of years ago and I can definitely say they have made some major changes to the building for the better. I would definitely stay there again.

My husband and our small Border Collie rolled into Moncton late looking for accommodations and the front desk staff of the first hotel we stopped at (which couldn't accommodate our dog) recommended this place. As my husband is the owner of a small hotel himself, we tend to like to frequent small, independent hotels, but are probably picker than most about the details! We were very pleased with our experience here. They are pet-friendly (no extra charge) and the front desk staff was warm and helpful and made an excellent recommendations for dinner and even stored our bikes in one of their unused conference rooms for us. The property is near the end of a big renovation and they have, for the most part, done a nice job, though there was still some work to do in the hallways, etc. The room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable and the bed wonderful--we had a great night's sleep. We appreciated several small things they do, such as the in-room mini fridge, their environmental stewardship commitment, and the fact that they had bottles of wine available in the rooms for purchase, if you didn't feel like going out. We would definitely stay in this or another Rodd hotel property in the future and highly recommend them.
