“Nice place in South Fredericton - minutes to downtown”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

This was a very clean, very new hotel room in a very convenient location but not the sort of neighbourhood you'd expect. The room was large, quiet, comfortable and clean. The biggest "flaw" is the lack of coffee maker and that's because there was always fresh coffee in the breakfast area.

Getting around was very easy - immediate access to Regent to get downtown and to the Trans-Canada highway. Only a few minutes to UNB, also. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast included was hot and well-stocked. A nice change of pace (and about 20% cheaper) compared to the Crowne Plaza.

First impression when you drive up is good. The ground level rooms have small patios with a muskoka chair outside and planters with flowers. The grounds are well maintained and the building looks well cared for.

The room was well appointed and included a small fridge. The bathroom was clean and bright. The mattress was firm (which I prefer).

If you are a light sleeper you might not like the location. One side of the building does face the highway and you can hear the trucks when they go by.

The breakfast area is a good size and a continental breakfast was included with the room. They offer the usual fare: toast, bagels, cereal, muffins, boiled eggs, coffee, tea and juice.

The Regent shopping mall is very close by and has a movie theater. You can follow Regent all the way to downtown Fredericton, which is handy for navigating.

I stayed at this Inn for a couple of days in mid June on a business trip. Would highly recommend Amsterdam Inn & Suites to anyone looking at staying in Fredericton for business or leisure. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were spotless - could not find a speck of dirt anywhere! I enjoyed the breakfast. It was nice to start my day at work. There is also a exercise room at this Inn. You are very close to the mall, restaurants, movie theater. The room rate was fantastic! This Inn is a hidden gem. I will be staying here again next time I am in town on business.

Room Tip: Ask for the corparte rate if you are travelling on business.

We live in a city not to far from Fredericton and decided to get away for the weekend as a family. We have 2 young children and wanted to stay in a hotel, but without the hassle of trying to settle them down when we weren't ready for bed yet since both beds would be in the same room. Not at the Amsterdam Inn! They offered a family room with a king size bed with a 'bonus' room set back a bit with bunk beds and a little tv!! There's no door on the room, but it was much easier to get them to sleep and still be able to stay up for a bit ourselves. They offered 2 "themes" for this bonus rooms, which we had our choice of. Carnival/circus or space. We chose space, and the artist who did the murals did a fantastic job - really well done and thought out. Our kids LOVED the bunk beds and having a little spot to go and play on their own. Another option the hotel offers is walk out rooms on the main level. We opted for the bonus room, but it's another nice option for families if the parents want to sit out on the front step while the kids are sleeping. The location isn't the typical hotel location - almost in a bit of a business park, but is right down the road from the mall/movie theatres/gas stations/highway access. Very conveniently located. The staff was very nice, and the complimentary breakfast was adequate. It saved us quite a bit of money, and the kids enjoyed similar foods to what we would have fed them at home - boiled eggs, toast, bagels, yogurt, cereal, with some yummy treats added in there to. We called the hotel (pretty last minute) and got a small discount on the room - originally $150/night down to $130. Their basic rooms were offered to us at around $90 I think. The room/entire facility was really clean and nice, and to be honest I was mildly surprised that the furnishings and bedding are similar quality to what we've found at the various Delta locations we've stayed at. The only downside we encountered was that they have no pool, but there is a huge indoor pool within a 10-15 min drive where we brought the kids as an outing and it was not missed at the hotel. Overall, we will most definitely be going back to this hotel in the future as we feel it really caters to our needs as a family with young children.

An over night stay with my family for a volleyball tournament. All we needed, a clean spacious room, QUEEN sized beds, a decent serve your self breakfast (included)and easy to get to and from for the tournament. We knew the room was really clean as you could see the marks on the carpet where the bed had been moved to vacuum. Love the duvets and the staff is so friendly. The room rate was great and we did not mind the lack of a pool as the kids needed to sleep. Handy to the mall and a Sobeys across the highway.
Our new favorite in Fredericton

Room Tip: Ask for the Bishop St side, less traffic noise
