“We will stay again”
Reviewed July 6, 2009

Last week we had to go to Fredericton and stayed in Wandlyn Inn Hotel even though their name has been changed as Howard Johnson Plaza hotel now. Price was not too high for our hotel room but standard and service was excellent. They have a nice restaurant, lobby and exterior. Friendly environment. They gave us 25% discount in the restaurant for our supper as hotel border. The room was very clean and comfortable bed to sleep. Outdoor pool bar was not open for rain however enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the indoor pool. Complementary breakfast was very good to start with lot of items (Bread, Cereal, fresh fruit and juice, boiled egg etc). The Internet and also long distance call in US and Canada was free of charge, which I never got in any other Hotel in my trip. We did not expect anything more for a $99 hotel room.

Hotel is very loud, walls are paper thin and not very clean. Not a great place for families. Website shows photos of recent renovations, don't be fooled by this. All that has been renovated is the exterior front and the lobby. If you are looking for a good nights sleep, stay elsewhere!

It has been taken over by Howard Johnsons and boasts that it is completed renovated. Look at the photo section, it will show you the new name and the photos of the "renovated" foyer at the entrance. That is the ONLY area in the hotel that has been renovated.
The place is dirty, the furniture is old. My key would only open and close the dead bolt lock, and not the regular handle, and it was hard to lock and unlock. My sis's non- smoking room stank of cigarettes.
The room we were served breakfast actually had a sign on the outer door that said "closed for renovations". Our breakfast was suppose to have eggs, bacon, sausage, the works. It was actually various breads, cereal, and hard boiled eggs.

Way too expensive for ANY stay.

Best part about it was the fact that there is a nice Canandian Drug store right down the street that in open from 8am to 12AM. If you have never been to a CA drug store, it is very fun.

This hotel and its staff were wonderful to deal with. We had just left a motel called Town and Country (never! stay there)- and we were so frustrated, we almost gave up on the city and drove home- but my husband wanted to try one more hotel before we gave up- we checked the Wandlyn- they were offering a great price. I told the front desk lady that I have allergies and we would need to spend some time in the room before we committed to the stay...she was very accommodating! The room was great- it was recently re-done and was well worth the cost (again, very reasonably priced!)- the room was CLEAN, no strong scents, and well maintained.
The staff at this location really turned around our trip- the front desk agent remembered our names- inquired that my allergies were alright and made us very comfortable!
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning at stay in the area- we will be back the next time we vacation in New Brunswick!
Though this is a positive review for the Wandlyn- I cannot stress enough the horrible experience we received at the Town and Country Motel on the outskirts of town- Avoid that motel at all costs!!!!!

Thanks to the staff at the Wandlyn for a great stay, the friendly welcome and their cleaning staff for an outstandingly clean room and public areas!!!

Hi I recently stayed at this motel. It is a decent place, but overall there is room for improvement.

The pillows are really bad - flat like a pancake. The furniture looks second hand, with scrapes and cuts on it. The bathroom was clean, and the pool and hot tub are nice. Basically, this place is a bit rough around the edges as far as appearances go, and a little effort to fix things like my dented door knob can really make this place look better. But for $69 for the standard room, I cannot complain too much. For the price, you get what you pay for.

My girlfriend surprised me with a stay in the bridal suite at the Wandlyn Inn for New Years Eve and my birthday. The bridal suite is a nice big room complete with a heart shaped jacuzzi tub and fire place. The king size bed was spacious and very comfortable. We had a nice quiet romantic evening. The front desk was very polite and friendly. We had to call for someone to come and fix the fire place, which apparently was on a time. They came right away and got it working again. When we checked out the next morning the staff mentioned that there had been 2 new years eve parties in the hotel. We never heard a noise. The room was very quiet and clean.

other than that, every thing was find, the bed were good , the tv chanel were ok and the hotel lobby was exelent. the personals were also very polite and apologie for everthing
i must experience a bad room and i presume in the normal time things would be better. my nest trip to fredericton will be to another motel anyway,
