My sister (who lives in Halifax, NS) recommended Brennan's to us, and we were not disappointed. John and Noreen are very good hosts who clearly enjoy what they're doing (and Noreen cooked an excellent breakfast).

The Victorian house (well-restored, although it looks like the exterior still needs a bit of work) has a lovely setting, facing the St. John River. There is unique and beautifully intricate woodwork throughout the house.

It's a short walk into town along the river, and within five minutes you can reach a trail (a converted rail line) that takes you across a long bridge over the river.

Our room was very comfortable, and although it overlooked the road, it was quiet. We took advantage of the cozy sitting area on the second floor. Small quibble: the pot thoughtfully set there never had any hot water in it, and there were no teas or coffee put out.

My wife and I had no expectations of Fredericton, and were most pleasantly surprised. It's the capital of New Brunswick, and a university town. It's a modest city (especially by the standards of a New Yorker!) that just seemed extremely nice. Although there are a couple of fine-dining restaurants in town, we had an informal but perfectly acceptable (and inexpensive) dinner seated outdoors at a bustling pub, served by a very friendly and energetic waitress.

We stayed witH the Brennans on our way to and from PEI. They have a beautifully restored heritage home overlooking the river. The rooms are clean and comfortable with updated luxury bathrooms. The breakfasts were excellent. On our return trip we stayed in their apartment at the top of the house which has a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen and a whirlpool tub in the main bathroom. We were able to stroll into the town centre for dinner and see some of the local historic sites. Definately the place to stay in Fredericton!

We enjoyed staying in this old house, the details of the architecture.. it's like living on the 18th century, beds were comfortable, very clean, VERY QUIET, water front, easy walk to city center, nice patio for an afternoon beer or tea. The owners are great.

If you like historic, well-kept century homes, this is the place for you. From the minute you turn onto Waterloo Row, you know you are in for a treat. The home is immaculate, with gleaming woodwork throughout. It has been well preserved for over 125 years. The hostess is lovely and quite eager to talk about her home and the other homes in the area. The bed is comfortable, the room is lovely, and their is a great little seating area on the second floor landing. The side porch offers an old fashioned swing for two - great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The breakfasts and service were amazing. Love it, love it!

We stayed at Brennans on Aug 20, 2013 and were very impressed with the fine heritage architechture of this turn of the century accommodation. Noreen, our hostess, explained some the history of the amazing original millwork found throughout the building. Our room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Our delicious breakfast was healthy, filling and tasty. The location is just a 10minute walk along a scenic river to the restaurant area of town. We will certainly stay here again next time we roll through Fredericton.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 4 with a comfortable king four-poster bed. We used a window air conditioner to kee...

Excellent 1 night stay at Brennan's B&B. Beautiful heritage house, wood panelling and big classic radiators. Noreen was very welcoming and helpful with things to do for our short stay. House is located about 12min walk from centre of downtown. Had an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit salad, pecan bun and eggs and ham. Free parking and wifi (although wifi signal was too weak to reach our room). Room had a comfy bed, big flat screen tv and upmarket modern bathroom. Noreen was clearly a experienced B&B owner! Highly recommended.

This is a lovely B&B. The vast 19th century house, which faces the St. John's river, has been beautifully restored. John and Noreen are gracious hosts and the breakfast they serve is excellent.

This was our second stay at Brennan's B&B. We would certainly stay there again if we needed lodging in Fredericton.
