I was looking for a place to stay in Fredericton to stay over for the weekend. I needed a hotel that was close enough to the Fredi mall and cheap enough to access Fredi by cab many times a day. The Best Western Plus was the one. Jacques Landry reffered it to me when I called. I thought the location and service were great. I would come back anytime. The checkout time is at noon versus 11 for a lot of other places, so that's an extra hour of sleep on a Sunday morning. Something to think about.

Stopped overnight to break up a long drive. For that, the hotel was perfect - close to the trans canada highway, room looked brand new, pillows were really comfy and we enjoyed the belgian waffles for breakfast.

I was in Fredericton for Congress and found this to be one of the best hotels in Fredericton.
The room was huge, clean and quiet. Internet service was great with no restrictions. For the other reviewers who did not notice upon booking that Internet is provided by wire or the notice that a network cable was available for FREE at the front desk.
The included breakfast was handy and the two ladies running it were super nice and willing to help people like me who can't seem to toast bread without burning it.
Cleaning staff were very attentive and helpful.
My only complaint is the hotel is a bit out of town so be prepared to walk or cab.

I stayed here for a week because I was a delegate at the Congress of the Humanities. Congress drew 6000 academics so the hotel (and every hotel in town) was at full capacity the whole time.

The Good:
* The rooms are spacious and there is a large, flat screen television.
* The fitness center is tiny but pleasant.
* There is ample parking and it's a five minute drive to chain restaurants/groceries/services.
* The cocktail lounge is nice and the young bartender very pleasant; she was efficient and helpful.

The Bad:
* The rooms are incredibly dark. The few lamps are so low watt you cannot read by them. It's very depressing.
* The staff is very young and unconcerned with your experience. Any request is giggled at (like extra towels) and delayed. This could be b/c the hotel was full and they were overwhlelmed, or because the staff are all 18. I had a broken lamp and phone for two days. The a/c was broken for four days.
*You cannot use Skype as their WiFi is a private closed network that does not permit Skyping.
* Housekeeping missed cleaning my room three days. (I even called before leaving in the morning to make sure it would be done). The reason? "Someone messed up! We have a lot of young people who don't know what they're doing"
* There is NO MANAGER on site, and the very young staff clearly takes advantage of this.
* When the owner did arrive for a night and I asked to speak with her, I was informed I could come in the next five minutes or not at all. I was on my way to lecture so could not speak to her but she said she didn't want to interfere with her visit by speaking any other time than immediately. She said: "It's not my problem if you don't have time now."

My colleagues who stayed here had similar problems, including one next to a room with a dog that barked for three days while the staff said they couldn't ask the guests to take care of their dog.

This hotel is fine in terms of location and room size, but the staffing is horrendous and the owner does not deserve your business.

There was a last minute cancellation at the Crowne Plaza and I moved there to escape the teen dream that is the BW.

Recently stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament. The guest rooms were very large and comfortable, and the staff certainly went out of their way to make the team feel welcome. Also the breakfast was included which was a huge bonus for early morning hockey games!!!
