“A trip back in time”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Whenever I visit Fort Beausejour, I look out at the Bay of Fundy and the opening where ships entered after crossing the Atlantic in the 1700s and I try to imagine how the soldiers stationed at the fort must have felt at seeing the first ship after a long, isolated winter.
Off to the left one can see the trenches that were built by attacking forces from Fort Lawrence so they could get closer to Fort Beausejour without being picked off by snipers.
Artifacts from the museum are interesting and well displayed, and staff are excellent.
Well worth the visit. Also visit the website where you will find pictures and the history of the fort.

“Historic gem”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

Returning from Moncton decided to stop at Fort. Visited there many years ago and wanted to refresh my memory.

The cost of entry is a bagain, under $4 per person. There is a very nice collection of artifacts collected on site and from around the area.

Had questions for the staff and they went out of their way to find answers.

The grounds were kept very well and easily accesable for the most part.

whether this is a plus or a minus ... you have a great veiw of the wind farm accross the Nova Scotia border.

“Fort Beausejour”
Reviewed July 23, 2011

The staff at Fort Beausejour is for the most part "Acadien" so if you are looking for your Acadien ancestry they know what you are looking for (and they might be related to you!). The staff provided information well beyond the well laid out and informative museum display. I found the book store at Fort Beausejour to contain great books, maps, and pictures of the Acadien history. About 5 minutes away in Beaubassin, there is an archaelogical dig taking place and you will have to sign up for it so ask at the museum how to schedule.
