We do not have a restaurant like this at home. My wife and I went here with her brother and his wife. What a great idea, it allows you to eat as little or as much as you want. it also allows you to experiment and sample different things.

A quick summary:
The bowls are small. You have to pile the bowl until it overflows and hope you don't spill it on the floor to get it to the grill.
The small noodles stick and burn on the grill. It seemed better to not put noodles in the bowl and just ask for a side of rice instead.
The servers/grill cooks were enthusiastic and entertaining - which made the $15 per bowl palatable.
It was difficult to choose the right combonation to get the sauces correct. Follow the sauce combos on the wall - it will make a difference.
Kids are given a choice of rice and wrap - the wrap is microwaved and then served. Better off with rice (white, brown or fried), in my opinion.
The grill staff did a good job of cleaning the grill after every meal spot cooked before starting another one.
The veggies were fresh.
The meat and fish was frozen.
Everything cooks down, so put the meat in the bottom of the bowl and then veggies on top and then the sauces.
For a first time experience with kids, it was fun. Their favorite part was ringing the gong at the end of the meal.
I wasn't impressed with the price.

My title pretty much says it all. The food at Mongo's never disappoints, but that's probably because you put it together yourself. However, that's where the compliments end. The floors, counters and buffet area are often pretty dirty with spilled sauces and foods, and if you ever looked down at the floors around the grill, you'll be lucky if you still have an appetite after.

It also really bothers me that you're paying so much for your bowl(s) of stir-fry and then the wait staff refuse to allow you to package up your leftovers because it's "against their policy". I don't understand any policy that would rather throw food in the garbage, then allow patrons, who are paying for it, to take it home to eat at a later time.

We come here quite often. You get to grab a bowl and put anything and everything you want in it. Veggies, meats, noodles, sauces. You bring it up to the grillers and they fry it up right in front of you. You have the choice to add egg, rices etc on the grill. The food is incredible and its always cooked to perfection. If you don't like the taste, the only person to blame is yourself. It is a lot of fun getting to make your own dish and not having to cook it. Staff is fun and friendly and it is reasonably price. Will always come back!

We come to kenaston location almost every week and we usually enjoy great food and good service. This time June 30,13 the little girle couldn't finish her plate( only one) and we asked to get it boxed and the shift manager politely refused. We would have liked for them to be more courteous.
