It is a cozy (not a fancy) restaurant with friendly staff and it is my favorite restaurant in Winnipeg.
Food is also good with reasonable price. Some people say it is not genuine Mexican food, but I like it the way it is!
They have great salsa. They also have some deals on chicken wings, if you like them.

Overall this place is so dark and dirty the only thing you should order is a beer that comes in its bottle!
I won't be coming back.

Ate at Carlos and Murphy's tonight with some girlfriends, had the shrimp taco's and they were great! Nice cold Corona's and a very helpful waitress.

We happened to fall on this place last week while on business in Winnipeg. Seemed like a cool joint with cool people and it was but the food lacked any type of originality. The Mexican food was simply ho hum, nothing to write home about. We had chips, guacamole and salsa to start. Portions were HUGE but bland, the salsa especially. For my main I had a bean and cheese enchilada served with lettuce, re-fried beans that were tasteless and dry and rice which was also bland and dry. Their margarita's were lame too. Prices and portions are very good though. I suggest ordering the lunch size meal as that was more than enough for a dinner portion.

But I do have to admit their patio is cool. This place is great to go for a few beers with friends but definitely do not expect the best Mexican food.

Been going to C & M's for years for the best nachos in town (Carlos Nachos to be specific as they have refried beans on them). Huge portion, lots of cheese and extras, great guacamole (extra charge). Gold shrimp is also delicious, and the wings are pretty good too, especially during Happy Hour when they're half price. Strawberry margaritas are also great as they use real strawberries (lime margaritas not as good). Yes this restaurant is dingy, outdated and it kinda smells on the inside. That's why the best time to visit is in the summer when you can enjoy the delicious snack food on the patio.
