“Well worth the visit”
Review of Plug In Gallery

The Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is located in the middle of Winnipeg's downtown in the Buhler Centre and shares space with the University of Winnipeg and Stella's Cafe. It's in an elegant modern building with a white exterior that's livened up by beautiful colors in the interior. It has changing exhibitions and an interesting bookstore. There is never an admission fee. It's well worth a visit if you are downtown.

Plug In Institute for Contemporary Art is in a beautiful new building on Portage Ave. right near the Winnipeg Art Gallery, so if you're in the area you should see both of these places. Plug In is not huge, but the gallery space is well thought out and the exhibits are excellent. I just saw the first installment of the My Winnipeg exhibit featuring Marcel Dzama, Neil Farber, Michael Dumontier, Wanda Koop, and other brilliant stuff. Friendly staff, solid bookstore, and the admission is free. There's also a nice cafe here. Definitely a must-vist place for modern art lovers in Winnipeg.
