“Very Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

They have done a really nice job of the Sculpture Garden, not only is the garden well done but all the sculptures of Leo Mol are there. There's lots of bigger ones outside and lots of smaller ones in a Art Gallery in the garden. There's also a small workshop area with some history of Leo Mol.
You can either go straight into the Leo Mol garden from the road by the garden. But.........its nicer to park outside the English Gardens and walk through those which are beautiful which will lead you through to the Leo Mol gardens.I think they still have live jazz music there on a Sunday.

“Worth the Walkabout”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

This is a very beautiful place is located within Assiniboine Park. It is very spacious, and the sculptures are placed in areas that allow for some fab pictures. There is also a small wooden building which serves as a museum/display on how the sculptures were made - very interesting. The area of the sculpture garden is pleasant to spend a couple of hours seeking out the statues. Some sculptures will require a little extra sleuthing to discover. Try to find them all. It is easy walking, and wheelchair accessible. This garden also adjoins the "Boy With The Boot" fountain gardens - which are gorgeous. Find the famous popcorn plant and touch it's leaves then smell your fingertip. And one other thing, as of my last visit,... it's free!

“Relaxation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

This is the place for a leisurely stroll and some relaxation. The Sculpture Garden connects to The English Gardens by a very short path. When my children were young they enjoyed this area; the bear sculpture, the pond with the frogs croaking in the early summer and the lily pond. There are benches located throughout the Gardens that one can sit and relax and listen to the birds, watch the rabbits, chipmunks or squirrels. There is a walkway on the outside of the Gardens where one can have a picnic in the grass. Opposite the road from the English Gardens is the newly renovated Duck Pond and a newly built Qualico Centre where one can have a meal or buy refreshments. A nice place to enjoy the outdoors!

“Hidden Gem of Assiniboine Park”

The Leo Mol garden, and the nearby English Gardens are not to be missed if you're in the area. Ample parking nearby at the zoo entrance if their small lot is full.
