The freedom to walk and enjoy the flora and fauna. Well informed staff.
Great shop. Cafe not so great. Wonderful learning experience for us all. Love the geese migration in the Fall.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2012

Even though the weather was cool and overcast, I loved this place. We spent hours walking the paths watching for deer and birds and boy did it deliver! We saw several deer and couple of golden eagles. This made our trip to Canada memorable. I highly recommend Ft Whyte Alive.

“Great Field Trip Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

We went for a field trip with my Grade 3 class. It was a very rainy day, but the staff made sure that it didn't get our spirits down. The game of Predator and Prey was so fun!

“Great fun for the entire family!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2012

Fort Whyte is one of those places that is easily looked over, with well maintained walking paths through a forested area full of birds, geese, ducks, deer (if you are lucky and quiet) and ponds with muscrat, frogs and turtles it is worth the visit. I suggest going to dollarama first and purchasing some nets for critter dipping / bring a jar to place your critters into / then release into the water -- Critter dipping off the floating docks found through out Fort Whyte is great fun especially for children. If you want to spend the day bring a picnic lunch there are many areas to sit and enjoy the silence of the forest / waterways. The two centers within Fort Whyte have washroom facilities and interactive areas that tell all about this unique area. I highly recommend a visit to Fort Whyte for everyone of all ages!
