Saw "Jail House Rock". Music was fabulous. Set design interesting. Cast did a good job.

Too bad that the meal was such a disappointment. Menu states "Medium" for Prime Rib dinner. That means "pinkish" -- not greyish (overdone). Salad was mediocre. Food was lukewarm. Because of time limits, one cannot send entree back for replacement. Very little was eaten. Even less was enjoyed.

Show and meal is close to $100.00 plus beverages and gratuity per couple. The meal should be served the way it is STATED ON THE MENU.. Medium is "medium" -- not well done.

I attended, in a party of 7, a performance of "Jail House Rock" on May16, 2012. This was my second visit to this venue. It was an enjoyable experience. Two of our table appeared briefly, as background "extras" on stage .Celebrations Dinner Theatre is located in the Canad Inn complex. Parking is ample around the hotel, but fills up fast in the evening. We had pre-booked our tickets--204-982-8282. Doors open for seating at 6:15pm and can close 6:45 pm. We had a floor level table near the stage. There is another upper level of seating. A distinctive feature of dinner theatre is that the cast helps serve food and drinks Some servers, in costume are definitely "characters", and use their persona to joke about with the guests. Audience participation is encouraged, and your waiter-- actor/singer will urge dinner guests to be a part of the stage show, as background performers. This is not scary, as the stage actors/singers do all the performing, and audience participants--"extras" are led about as background to the main song for brief periods. You will not be asked to perform solo.
Main actors/singers for "Jail House Rock" were Lew Wetherell as Johnny Cash, Cort Delano as Elvis Presley, Brad Duffy as Eddie Whickers, Johnny Rivers, Eric Burdon,Roy Orbison. Erica Ullyot as Nancy Sinatra,Bobbie Gentry,Grace Slick. The room walls were simply, but effectively painted as a cell block. Food and drink service is done before performance, and at breaks in the show. Food was designed for quick serving and consumption. WOW Hospitality Concepts operates similar dinner theatres in other cities. The following was the menu choices:
Love Me Tender-Prime Rib,vegetables, mashed potatoes.
Always On My Mind--Grilled chicken breast, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables.
All Shook Up--Seafood medley of shrimp, scallops, and salmon served on puff pastry.
That's All Right --Ravioli stuffed with Mediterranean vegetables, grilled pepper mushroom and zucchini.
On this night, the dominant age group were baby boomers, but younger people were in attendance.
Upcoming shows are "Ghost Busted", June 1 To August 14, 2012. " NCIS: A Canadian Affair", August 10, to October 6, 2012.
Guests celebrating a birthday are asked to come on stage after the show to be acknowledged.
All at our table enjoyed the show and song medley. Sound quality was good.

We attended Jail House Rock....although generally impressed with the performers the meal served was lack lustre. Some of the performers were a little too much "in your face " for my liking...oh well we like to try everything at least once.
