I attended a birthday party at Tavern United on Sunday May 26,2013. While it was a fun time with other guests, certain aspects were troubling. The parking lot was mostly taken over by a classic car and street Rod club who arbitarily patroled the parking lot. My female companion was told she couldn't park her car in certain places, and if she did ,she would be towed. She was so upset, by the mannerism of the parking person, she had to ask me to repark her car on the lot, to avoid another confrontatation with self appointed car club parking staff with bad attitudes. I find it hard to believe that the restaurant management would abrogate their control over most of their parking lot, that was never filled by the car club members in their pylon designated areas. Some road ways with in the parking lot were blocked by half ton trucks. One wonders what would have happened if emergency vehicles had to attend. Obviously tavern United staff were unknowing ,or didn't care.. When parking problem was mentioned to staff, we were told that they, the car club, couldn't really tow cars.
In general, servers were pleasant, but slow. Food orders for guests arrived at different times. Food was average quality. My companion said she was unimpressed by the food in general at previous visits. There are numerous wide screen TV to show games. This place seems to aspire to a "C" rating.

Hello Rich,

Thank you for reviewing our Tavern United location on TripAdvisor. We value guest feedback and comments.

Cruisin' The Peg - Classic Sundays car show is community supported free event that is attended by families, classic car enthusiasts and people of all ages. The show runs during the summer months on Sundays 6pm-9pm. The weekly event raises money for local charity.

Our friendly management and professional staff regulate the traffic coming in and out of the lot. They are outfitted with radio communication and high visibility vests.

The guest parking during car show hours is located on the north and east side of our Destination Centre and Tavern United is accessible from the hotel lobby during that time.

I was on site on Sunday and did notice your birthday group and they appeared to be enjoying themselves. I will follow up on the service times as we always strive to exceed guest expectations.

If you would like to speak with me personally i can be reached at the hotel at 204-224-1681.

Thank you to you and the birthday group for choosing Tavern United Transcona.

A large facility with a lot of televisions for the different tastes in sports - but it was difficult to navigate amongst the "roaming" patrons and the service seemed erratic.

Thank Bill R
