Have taken my grandchildren and many students through our Museum and am always proud to take visitors there. Our history is so clearly depicted. The displays are excellent and such good care is taken of them.

Wow, what an amazing museum. We intended to spend two hours but ran out of time. If you want to appreciate all exhibits and information you should allow three hours or more when strolling through time and history of Manitoba. From the very beginnings billions of years ago the walk takes you through time to end in a village scenery of the late nineteenth, early twentieth century. Railroad building to Churchill, Hudson Bay Company, Nonsuch replica are just a few highlights to mention. Lots of signs to read, some videos to watch and a rich collection of exhibits. We also took the audio guide (1$ each) but were disappointed since there were only a few audio messages, mostly about the dioramas. Next time we would go without. Other than that it's definitely a great museum and you can choose which aspect of history you want to spent your time on.

I recently took a group of 8 year oldsto the museum. We went to the science gallery first and then to the museum galleries. The kids explored in the science and loved it. Sme of the highlights were building a k'nex car and racing it around the track, the glass matrix, the water and sand area and the pulley chairs. The favourite spots in the museum were the urban gallery, Nonsuch ship and bat cave. We toured for an hour and a half and the kids could have stayed longer. Even the kids who find a lot of thing "boring " had a great day. A worthwhile stop if you are visiting Winnipeg.
