“Consistently good sushi”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

After several visits I can say with confidence that most people will enjoy their experience at Wasabi. There are several in the city and the one we went to several times was on Taylor Ave. We decided to sit in the lounge area at a high table. The smaller tables just didn't seem to be comfortable, but we liked the relaxed attitude. The server was great and new the menu well. Service was relaxed, but prompt. The mango tango roll was delicious and the butter fish was succulent. It isn't easy on the budget. We spent about $110 each visit, but that included a few drinks for each of us (no desert). Minor complaint is that the menus could be reprinted, as they seemed a bit worn and stained. My guests from the west coast said it was fantastic.

“More beauty than substance”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

The space is beautiful, and the dishes are presented like little works of art. Overall, I find the rolls to be too large to enjoy properly (can't comfortably fit one piece in your mouth, and the flavour/texture combo is spoiled when you have to take multiple bites). Individual dishes have all been delicious, two favourites are the butter fish in truffle oil and the soft shell crab. It is expensive though, and the portions are tiny. Service can be a bit slow, as they seem to be slightly under-staffed for busy weekend evenings.

“Great food with nice ambiance”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Fabulous mango prawns (you will want to order 2 orders for 4 people) delicious rolls, delicate and tasteful fish and seafood and friendly service. This would definitely be a 5 out of 5 but it's a little pricey. Great food and ambiance.

“You think that you have never had Sushi before”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

A nicely appointed restaurant with an amazing array of selections that is not over-powering on choices. You know the places that have too much on the menu which makes it impossible to do anything well. Not to worry here. Fresh and creative. Beautifully presented. Knowlegable staff. We took our nephew who was visiting from BC there and his comment was "I thought I have had Sushi before....but this is Sushi......I guess I have never really had Sushi before". Best Sushi in Winnipeg. Kudos.

“Best Sushi in town”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

Winnipeg, even when you could not believe, is the city in Canada with more restaurants "per capita"
So, being the BEST SUSHI place in town...it means a lot!
Wasabi Sabi is, no doubt, the best place for sushi. A great ambience, cozy, modern with being "overdose of modernity" wisely managed, classic and modern sushi, fresh ingredients...what else can you expect?
Good service! Not the kind of servers that will interrupt your conversation every 5 minutes, but just alert to your needs. great experience. It is not the cheapest place in town, but it worths.....
