“Great convenience and value”
Reviewed November 14, 2010

On previous trips to Winnipeg I've stayed at downtown hotels for what I'd originally thought was convenience of access to business clients. Mistake. Everything is close in Winnipeg I came to realize, so why not just stay at the airport? The Four Points is attached to the terminal via a skybridge, or you can just cross the street. You can be in your room 10 minutes after you've grabbed your bags off the carousel. The car rental counters are right next door - which can save you a day or two of rental charges depending on when you arrive/depart. The hotel exterior is drab and unprepossessing in the extreme, but inside the lobby is clean, bright and looks recently renovated. My room was smallish but very tastefully decorated and the bed and pillows were great. The fitness room was surprisingly well equipped considering the relatively small size of the hotel, with two treadmills, an elliptical, a recumbent bike, ab station, benches and a large dumbbell rack. All the gear was new looking and in good repair. No pool, but there's a major addition being constructed next door so who knows, maybe one's coming?

I got a treat corporate rate for the location and property. The onsite restaurant was also quite reasonable, and the food was decent and generously portioned. The entire staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, bar and bell captain, were friendly and courteous.

My only gripe would be the parking lot at the rear of the hotel. The rates are no higher than what you'd expect for being across the street from the terminal - which is to say really high! - but hotel guests park for free (in theory) and are supposed to be able to swipe their room keys at the exit gate. Couldn't get my darned room key to work any which way I tried and ended up having to plug a credit card in instead. :-( Probably could have gone back in to the front desk and got it sorted out but by that time I had a line up behind me. If you're using the parking lot, get explicit instructions from the front desk on how to validate your parking using your room key PRIOR to exiting!

Stayed here one night and hosted a seminar on-site. The newly remodeled (as in we were either THE first or 1 of the first users) was VERY nice. Banquet staff (Susan, Brett) were quite easy to work with and very interested in our satisfaction.

The guest room was very comfortable and clean (I saw NO insects of any kind anywhere on property as 1 previous poster noted). The bed was very comfortable and the room very quiet - slept like a baby.

Had in-room breakfast and it was OK, but nothing spectacular. Hotel restaurant food was very good otherwise.

I would definitely recommend the property for a stay and/or conference. Of course, if you're just catching a flight, it's on-airport location can't be beat for the convenience there either.

My daughter and I stayed here one night in order to catch a flight the next morning to Toronto. Hotel staff was friendly, Room service food was good, very quick service too. Beds were comfortable (no beds bugs noted as in a previous review!) Hotel itself is average, nothing fancy, it was clean and comfortable. A little pricey, but expected when it located so close to the airport.

For being the most expensive hotel in the area, I expected much more. Yes, the location is conveniently located across from the airport but the upkeep of the hotel has not been maintained; the hotel just looks and feels old.
The public hallways had dirty carpet and walls. The bathroom in the guest room had discolored grout with mold and mildew and the tub would not drain properly. But the rest of the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Service in the restaurant was poor with the waitress chatting with people for too long at the cost of service to other patrons. Other hotels in the area would be a better choice.

I stay at the Four Points Winnipeg Airport at least one a month, and I have always thoroughly enjoyed my time there. They have great front desk staff- Paul, Ken, and others, and have very friendly housekeeping staff, too. I always request the second floor because of the proximity to the skywalk to the airport and the exercise room, and I have almost always have my request met. The rooms are very nice, but for some reason they get extremely hot in the winter months, even with the heat off.

I regularly eat the at the restaurant and sports bar, and while the food is acceptable, I don't find the staff at the Sports Bar overly friendly. Nevertheless, it is a great hotel, and I always know that when I arrive, I will be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anybody passing through or for someone who is spending a weekend in Winnipeg.

This hotel is amazing for stopover stays. Perfect location, no hassles with taxis or shuttles as it is connected to the airport. The rooms are clean and quite and well decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the checkin-checkout process is quick. The attached restaurant and bar are quite acceptable as well. Only issue is that it is very dry. Fortunately the hotel gives free bottled water in the room.

The Sheraton Four Points Winnipeg Airport is directly connected to the airport, making it a convenient place for someone coming in on a late flight, or needing to catch an early morning flight.

This hotel features the standard "Four Points" amenities: Comfort bed, bathroom amenities, two bottle of water and free high speed internet.

I was offered a "suite" type room which is a nice oversized room with a separate living and sleeping area. The room and the bathroom were well maintained and there was nothing negative to report.

There is a decent restaurant on site, which is probably your best option as choice is limited at the airport.

The only items that detracted from the overall experience were the relatively strong cleaning-product/air freshener in the main lobby and elevators. the elevators showed their age as the ride was bumpy and carpets in bad need of replacements. Carpeting throughout the hotel and in the room itself probably need a little bit of updating. This is not a "young" hotel and although these would be details, they may be enough of a distraction for someone to consider other alternatives. Although not the case here, it is quite common for hotel chains to let their "value" chain (Four Points, Hampton, Courtyard) age rather poorly, these usually being the first signs of decay...

If you value convenience, a room in good shape and good service, this is the place for you.
