The large, well treed park in the middle of Winnipeg. It is great to cycle, roller blade, picnic or just walk around. A terrific botanical garden when in bloom. Right next to the terrific sculpture garden.Take in the music in the park series when performers are out in summer. The Zoo has undergone an upgrade last summer so visit the bears.

The changes that have been made are great. The Duck Pond area was really upgraded beautifully. The grand opening of Churchill Polar Bear exhibit in the Zoo this coming summer will be a first in all of North America.

We enjoyed our day here very much, Hudson the Polar bear was quite a show stealer! A large array of animals to see, was a good day.

We visited the zoo on Boxing day... it was quite a cold day. There were not very many visitors at the Zoo, but the walkways were all cleared of snow. Fortunately we dressed well and we had opportunities to warm up in the pavilions. The animals were just wonderful! My son saw his first kinkajou (it has been his favourite animal for 8 of his 11yrs). The snow leopards and polar bears were particularly magnificent.

The duck pond is a serene and special place to skate and a tradition for many Winnipeggers. The crisp, white snow and big, old trees provide the perfect backdrop to this popular winter attraction. Improvements such as the Duck Pond Pavilion heated shelter and the convenience of the Park Cafe just make it that much better. It’s best to go on a cold day when the air is crisp and the ice is fast!
