With tourism ambassadors the likes of what was working the front desk (Susan) the morning of November 6, 2011 along with the alleged head of housekeeping (Glenda); Winnipeg will quickly become a place people used to visit. These two women were very confrontational and downright obnoxious.
We had stayed at this location several times in the past. There is nothing overly special about the place other than being located close areas we had appointments in. We checked in Saturday evening, with our dog, as we had in the past. It was our intent to stay until Monday, possibly extending for an extra day.
On the internet, they are listed as a pet friendly establishment. There is even paper work in the rooms stating they are pet friendly, with a fee (which we have no problem with). This morning (Sunday, November 6) we were confronted outside the room by the front desk attendant who apparently was summoned to the room next to ours when the chamber maid observed my wife taking the dog for a walk.
These two women were very confrontational and in our opinion the front desk clerk fully intended to pick a fight. She demanded to know which room we were in and informed us we were not permitted to have the dog in the hotel. We mentioned staying there in the past and the 'rules sheet' from the room. Her answer was that it was under new ownership and new rules. We packed our belongings and checked out.
While checking out, the chambermaid continued to lean on the desk, inflaming the situation worse instead of returning to the job she was being paid to do.
These people need to learn the traveller is the purpose of their business not an inconvenience to it.
Needless to say, never will be the next time we patronize this business.
