“The worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

My husband stayed there on business in September 2012 and asked me to share his review of the hotel. "I would have to characterize this as one of the worst stays in my
travels over the years.
Room #217.
Room was dirty. Dust had accumulated enough from the ceiling vent that
it was hanging over the bed.( over the bed area)
To get this resolved took several hours. Debatable if that was resolved.
The exhaust from the ceiling vent was black & stained the "stucco" ceiling.
Piano player until 10:30 PM. Could be heard in my room, from when I checked in.

Quality of the establishment, service 2/5.

Website advertises one price, charged a different price. $99 versus
being carted $105. $10 coupon for the restaurant never offered.

Hardly satisfactory, either as an individual or corporate customer
Would not recommend."

I do enjoy this hotel. The service is good, the rooms are clean, and the resturants are varied. I love the Tavern United. The cost of staying here swings wildly. I been charged as high as $149 for a single room and as low as $105 for a king. Best to ask for a deal.

We have a jacuzzi suite. The room is fabulous. Really big, and has a nice painting on the wall. Wifi access is strong and fast. Great location within the city

My complaints are:
- The tv remote wasn't to be found when we got here, so we had to get the front desk to bring us another one. On the bright side, this happened quickly so no complaints really.
- Friday and Saturday night the Tavern (the pub this hotel is attached to) is very loud. People seem to stay at this hotel to go to party, and are loud throughout the night coming in and out of their rooms etc. If you don't mind that, then you're in the clear.
- Aalto's is their restaurant downstairs. It's mediocre... service isn't always the greatest. But there is always a constant buffet! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Always always always a buffet, and it's reasonably priced. Would recommend that!
-Breakfast is not included. So if you want convenience, you have to pay for your breakfast at Aalto's.

All in all our stay here was great. Good service, great location, and quiet rooms (just not late Friday/Saturday) but otherwise it's great!

Room Tip: Would recommend a jacuzzi suite

We have stayed many times at this hotel and have never been disappointed! The rooms are a nice size and the beds are very comfortable. Bathroom has a single sink, but a very long countertop. The water pressure in the shower was great and lots of hot water. This last time we had a suite with a gas fireplace and hot tub. The staff as always is very friendly and helpful. A nice touch is that there is a daily paper at your door every morning.
There are many choices for dining in the hotel and they also have a great buffet. The menu for the buffet changes daily which is nice. There is also a huge selection of top quality desserts and cakes (too many choices !!).
The hotel has a really nice pool area with a huge waterslide! The area is very clean and well maintained. This hotel is attached to the Keystone Centre which hosts many entertainment and sports events. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Brandon for business or pleasure.

This Hotel is nice! Everything is clean, great food and service. Terrific buffet with a different menu every night! Live piano playing in the evening is a great touch to everything. Pool and water slide looked nice, although I did not use them.

I have stayed at the Canad Inn in Brandon many times without review, and after this trip decided to put pen to screen. Like the Rooms, They are well appointed with microwave, coffee, and fridge, and a daily paper delivered to your room. Really hate the internet, and the service in the Alto’s Restaurant both are like watching molasses gel. Now if this was a one time observation one could say fine, bad timing, but during the past five years this has been a constant. If only they could sort out the internet and the culture of poor service in the Alto’s Restaurant, I would probably give this place a good 4+ star rating. I should mention that the Hotel is located on the front end of the Brandon Westman Centre. Every event that comes to town, sports, agriculture, etc is held at the centre, and it makes for a lot of convenience to be attached to the event without heading out in the willy Brandon Winter to take in a great hockey game (the Wheat Kings rock). But I have been there during agricultural events and the smells of the through traffic back to the animal areas can be quite sinus clearing. However I would not and could not hold the hotel responsible for the effect, except to perhaps suggest that for some events it would probably be a good idea to close off the interior access doors. Just a thought. Ahhh but to the really good stuff. Cookies. The front end staff have this nifty little cookie baker that they put to use daily. They make the most scrumptious delicacies with that little baker. Put the cookies in a basket on the counter and well lets just say, I am totally addicted to them. So on that note 3 stars overall, but 5 cookies for potential.
