Here's the bad and the good. The bad:- a December weekday evening threatening snow, a total of 4 tables by 7:30, a dispirited mood. The braised lamb shank overexposed so the top was dry and crusty. The lobster tail much too small (especially when the competition over the hill in West Beach serves excellent lobster). The decor too sparse; the modern white/black combination barren looking. Noisy even with just a few tables. Not even close to worth the prices charged.
The good: a late June appetizer/wine retirement party. Excellent open ocean view, beautifully presented and flavourful crudites, superb service. Open windows and a patio gave fresh sea air. Could not have been better. Stick with summer in White Rock!
