“Average indian food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

Service - was attentive, friendly
Restaurant - looked a little dated, but comfortable enough. No reservation required (we visited on a week night in April)
Location - difficult to find, so get some instructions from your hotel before trekking out in the cold! (note it is above Dominos pizza, up a set of stairs)
Food - we had the lamb korma and the butter chicken. Both were reasonably tasty and we polished them both off but they were not the best curries we have had. We also ordered the garlic naan which was very light and tasty.

Overall, nothing stood out as being a big negative but we wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

“Good food, half-decent portions, questionable service, and insulting prices.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

I visited with my extended family in early April, and if it weren't for the 'extended' part I would have been out of there the second I saw the prices. For the main dishes the prices seem about normal for a 'fine' Indian cuisine restaurant ($14-20), but the charge for bread and rice is downright insulting. $3 for enough rice for two or three people at most (since the portions aren't anything to brag about you can spread it a little further, but that's no excuse), and from $2 for a SINGLE roti to $6 for a more specialized naan. When I cleared up with our server (who seemed to be the owner), he acted as if there was nothing wrong with ordering three $3 naan breads for eight people. It's not 'authentic Indian cuisine' when you're eating spices and vegetables almost alone with a fork instead of running it across your plate with roti and mixed with rice!

Our waiter was a little bit rude and standoffish as he spoke down on other Indian restaurants while reluctantly accepting our orders without changing a couple things here or there by essentially refusing an order and forcing a change for another (and I am no stranger to Indian food, and have visited India extensively).

The atmosphere was okay, nice wooden tables and chairs with a few pictures along the wall, albeit tight. It's mostly west facing window means you will likely have some glare during dinner if it's a clear day.

The food was of good quality, but nothing to go crazy over. I've certainly had worse, but it's nowhere near the top of the totem for me either. Go here if you either don't mind spending the extra money for something that should undeniably be cheaper, or if you really don't care about the carbs of rice and bread.

“Fairly Good Indian Food in Whistler Village”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014

Would definitely recommend this , if like me, you start craving for Indian after a couple of days of eating out. In general, India food in most places in Canada is way better then their peers in US.

This place is quiet easy to find, on one end of Main street, one level above Domino's and Crepe Montagne. We went off peak hrs ( closer to 10 pm) on a Sat evening and were immediately seated and served. The decor inside is very good The food we ordered came quickly and was quiet tasty.
The menu had excellent choice and the was reasonably priced.

“Tasty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

This is one of two Indian restaurants in Whistler and we found it to be the better. Reasonable menu and you select how hot you want it (1-5). I had a chilli chicken cooked to heat level 4 which was delicious and probably a madras strength. Nan bread was nice but watch out for the peas in the pilau - can't say why but they just seemed out of place! Overall, good food, reasonable prices and friendly staff.
