Description: The culinary cornerstone in the heart of Whistler Village, Araxi enjoys a long held international reputation for excellence in food, wine and hospitality. As an early pioneer of farm to table dining, Executive Chef James Walt's seasonally focused menus celebrate the excellence of locally sourced ingredients. Walt's innovative and skillfully executed dishes-from savoury starters through delicious desserts-deliver intelligent compositions and unforgettable flavours. Centrally located in the main square of the village, Araxi boasts a contemporary dining room coloured in warm earth tones - and a sleek Oyster Bar that exudes the passion and craftsmanship that lie at the heart of the restaurant. The lively lounge, which features a year-round indoor/outdoor bar, is Whistler's favourite gathering place for both locals and visitors alike.

The first time we visited we did the 12 fresh shucked oysters for $15, such a bargain at such a prestigious restaurant and a cheese fondue in the cocktail lounge area. They open at 3pm at at 3pm there was a line round the corner. We were so impressed we came back for dinner, they have over 10 types of fresh oysters to choose from & you can get tasting plates to sample them. The Caviar menu was impressive and I can't begin to describe the wine list, remarkable. Every course was incredible, the waiter was well educated and extremely helpful, this restaurant would rate anywhere in the world.

We had a fabulous meal here.

Started with Oysters and a 'Special' of Dungeness crab rolls followed by Duck breast and Pasta. Finished up with Fondant chocolate and Salt water caramel ice cream. All of it was excellent but the dessert was sublime.

Service was excellent and the drinks list was comprehensive with something for every taste.

All in all a really good evening out.

We found the food selection intriguing. All four of us ordered a seafood dish and everything was prepared well. The drink menu, both alcohol and non was fun to read and order from. The service was excellent. Finally, we had room for deserts and the 3 we got were all delicious. This writer's favorite was the sugar donuts.

Our family (two adults, two children 11 & 13) loved this restaurant! Rob was amazing, their children's menu has excellent choices. As for my husband and I we couldn't have been happier. Excellent seafood, great B.C. Wines, delicious
specials and a lively and welcoming atmosphere!! Make reservations, you'll be happy you did!

We had dinner (a party of eight) at Araxi on Christmas Eve. Bland food, unremarkable decor, decent service (even though some in our party argued it was too forceful to be truly considered good). My wife and I ordered the handmade pasta + wild prawns and it was a notch below bland and tasteless. To be honest, we could have enjoyed tastier pasta with seafood had we searched the frozen entrees at a supermarket. Our friends' opinion of Araxi was equally low even though they ordered different entrees. Araxi was the #1 restaurant in Whistler at the time we booked our table -- and even though it's #4 as I write this review -- it definitely remains overrated.
