Description: In its 23rd year, the Rimrock Café has delighted diners with its innovative, fresh cuisine and emphasis on the finest fish and game, artfully prepared with inventiveness and flair. The restaurant is consistently recognized as a local’s favorite for atmosphere, service and a sublime eating experience. Behind the large glass window of our lit cellar, all manner of wines from the glamorous and recognizable to the intriguing and new seem to hum seductively. Two fireplaces cast an ambient glow over the chatter and energy of our rustic dining room. In summer, enjoy your meal on a sunny patio. The seafood antipasto for two is the perfect start to your meal. Stunning presentation meets succulent, vibrant flavor among the six exquisite tasters. Try our Venison tenderloin, served with a porcini cream and homemade spatzle. For the seafood lover, our main course Trio is a harmony of seared Ahi, nut crusted Sablefish and grilled prawns. Complete your meal with Whistler's favorite desert.

Great from start to finish. Even got the recipe for dessert we had and made it at home with great results.

“Best food in Whistler, hands down!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2009

Absolutely amazing - you definitely get what you pay for and you do not ever leave hungry!

Awesome service, with the perfect touch of friendly/local/humor paired with amazing food and wine. Don't bring your veggie friends here!

Best deal in town - throughout the year they offer a 3-course dinner for about $40!

Reservations HIGHLY recommended! (a few days in advance over busy periods)

“Caribou....wow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2009

We did the fixed price dinner in early August. Oysters first, and caribou for the entre. Wow. It was SO good I want to go to deeper into Canada and get one myself. But my guess is the Rim Rock preparation had considerable influence over how good it was. Portion was not big, but it sure was tasty.

“meal steal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2009

What can you say about a restaurant that offers 3 courses for $49CAN? Sounds interesting. When each of those courses can be picked from about a dozen fabulous options? Sounds very interesting. And in the end it works just great. Our table of four selected quite a wide variety of the options - no duplications here. We were uniformly impressed from start to finish. Toss in a great wine list. Heaven.

As an aside to other complaints - "Maitre'd wasn't wearing a tie"? "tee shirt concession in the restaurant's entry"??? - I can't take that stuff seriously nor would it detract from my dining experience anywhere.

“Family of Four Unimpressed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2009

A 2009 summer visit with our two college-age sons from Northern California brought us to the Rim Rock Cafe, outside of Whistler Village. Three-course meals all around accompanied by a fine bottle of Canadian Chardonnay. Gnocci at $4 per bite? $18 for a miniature beet salad? Both were wonderful, according to my wife, but nowhere near Bouchon quality for the price. My carpaccio, scallops and the mixed grill were all perfectly prepared and presented. One son with lobster bisque, crab cakes and beef filet loved everything. Salty-smoked lamb second course and chewy duck main course for our older son were both wierd preparations. Including our tip, the $360 we spent at Rim Rock felt about $100 out-of-line against other fine-dining meals at Whistler.
