The entire experience was awesome. From the valet service, to the front desk people and then the restaurant staff - couldn't have been better. This is one hotel where you really get what you pay for.

Dear Bob G,

Thanks for sharing your wonderful comments with us. I have shared your kind words with all of our staff this morning and we look forward to seeing you in Whistler soon. Glad to hear you loved the courtyard view and I agree, its a wonderful spot to relax or to just look at the mountains while enjoying an ice cold beverage after a day of hiking or mountain biking !

Warm regards,

We entered the Four Seasons at 7:30pm to inquire about a room only to find no one at the front desk! Was this really a Four Seasons? A discourteous concierge ran over, obstructing our way, and said there would be someone at the front desk within 10 - 15 minutes! Since we were interested in staying, we wandered around and came back in 15 minutes to an even less friendly front desk employee. Anyhow, with this type of service, we left for the Fairmont Chateau right down the road and, at their front desk, were several employees and the Hotel Manager. Their Hotel Manager was just so gracious, escorting us up to the room to make sure it was exactly what we wanted...

Dear Alan238,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our Resort. We are committed to providing the highest level of service to all of our guests and based upon your feedback we clearly did not demonstrate this and I sincerely apologize for the shortcomings you encountered while visiting our property. I have followed up with the appropriate Department Heads to addressed your feedback with the staff involved as I can assure you, this is not representative of the experience that our loyal guests have come to trust and know year after year. I hope that in the future you will reconsider the Four Seasons when visiting Whistler. Thank you again for reaching out to us, your valuable feedback allows us to continue to improve each day. Should you wish to discuss your concerns in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

With renewed apologies,

We stayed here for Memorial day weekend. Check-in was fast and the front desk personnel were genuinely happy to offer help. We were upgraded to a nicer room on the 9th floor. It is always a pleasant surprise to walk into a room and find a welcome amenity, no matter how small it is. It was nice to see a bowl of fruit, bottled water and nice welcome note from the manager these are the touches that make a 5 star hotel a 5 star hotel!

The rooms were quite large, which I imagine is especially appreciated in the winter with all of the winter gear one would need for skiing. The bed was uber comfy and I slept quite well. My other main criteria for judging a hotel room is the shower. I am happy to report the water pressure and temperature were amazing!

Here comes the hiccup which caused the elusive 5th star. Our Little travel group loves to play cards, so we opted to play in the bar and have some lite snacks. The food was terrible. We ordered some double dipped onion rings that when peeled away you could still see raw flour. The side of mac & cheese was so bland and had no cheese. They were so bad they had to be sent back. We also order some burger sliders medium, they came out medium rare. I was shocked that every item we ordered had something wrong with it, and that this was happening at a four seasons. I felt bad for the waitress, she was very apologetic. this turned us off from eating anything else at this hotel.

The staff at this hotel are very attentive, and friendly. Check out was a breeze and the valets stocked the car with bottled water for the drive home which is always a nice touch and leaves a good lasting impression of the hotel.

Would I stay here again? Yes, not sure if I would want to try the food again though.

Dear NBK5276,

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your valuable feedback on your recent stay over the Memorial Day weekend. I appreciated your kind comments regarding the personal service extended by our staff and the layout and comfort of our rooms as well as of course the wonderful showers! I was however equally concerned to hear of your experience regarding your food orders in our bar and wanted to offer my sincere apologies. This certainly is not the level of quality that our guests have come to know and trust worldwide. I have taken this opportunity to review preparation of the items ordered in detail with our Executive Chef as these have been requested favourites of our Whistler guests.

It is my hope that we will be able to welcome you back to Whistler soon to allow us another opportunity to exceed your expectations with our offerings at Sidecut and 5280 Bar.

Fantastic service, personable and helpful ski concierge, great wine, and the steak restaurant surpassed expectations. Rooms are lovely, modern, spacious yet cosy - we got upgraded so of course were delighted to have two bathrooms between the two of us!
We have stayed at the Fairmont previously, and have to say that the Four Seasons is definitely THE place to stay in Whistler, do not be put off by the lack of ski-in/out; its a short walk and the ski concierge takes care of everything - totally seamless.
Avoid breakfast at 8am during the holiday period - its like rush hour as you've never experienced it - but otherwise an all-round excellent resort. Worth every penny.

Room Tip: Wouldn't worry too much about Mountain View - the cloud gets so low over Blackcomb you can't...
