“BEAUTIFUL PLACE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

Stayed in Whistler for 2 nights but could have stayed for longer. The place is very clean, with a good variety of shops [better than Vancouver !] The atmosphere is welcoming. Had a drink at the Irish bar which was very expensive and when questioned about the prices all the barman said was 'welcome to Whistler' ! needless to say left after one drink, moved to another bar and saved ourselves $10. All in all a lovely place to visit

“Peak to Peak Gondola”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

We stayed in Whistler with our friends from Virginia in mid August. The highlight of our time in Whistler was riding the peak to peak gondola. The weather was perfect and the scenery was spectacular. There are options when you reach the top which allows you to spend some time exploring the majestic peaks. After returning to the Village, we enjoyed a great dinner.

Realistically you need at least 2 days to ski whistler/blackcomb. We did morning and early afternoon on whistler and by the time we went to blackcomb i was getting tired. i did find blackcomb was better conditions though.

“Makes our NZ fields look like small hills !”

Snow on the upper mountain was great but the lower mountain was rain frozen for the first few days before thawing out and providing some good spring skiing. With so much space even weekend skiing is tolerable if you avoid certain lifts and congested main runs. Plenty of wide open space and great tree skiing. Peak to Creek is a real leg burner, definitely need a beer and fries at the bottom before heading back up. Symphony chair was a favorite and the powder there seems to take longer to get skied out. Take the performance ski hire option where you can change your skis over on the mountain during the day, great for mixing up the terrain or if conditions change during the day also means your getting freshly tuned skis the whole time. Another key tip get yourself on the Gondola early as this is where it bottle necks and don't waste too much time on the peak to peak gondola, its a great ride and view but takes a while and if you have a few days your better off doing Whistler one day then Blackcomb the next. Blackcomb Glacier is definitely worth a look!

“The Ultimate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Whistler Blackcombe is the ultimate ski resort. It has the largest ski area anywhere in North America. The views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking. People and staff come from all over the world to work and experience it here, and couldn't be more friendlier. You could ski here for a week and never ski the same slope twice. This is definately a place to experience.
