The staff was exemplary in their genuine friendliness. We loved the location, layout, style and size of the hotel.

We stayed here for one night. The rooms are very nice but quite small especially when you get your luggage in. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The room had an in-room safe, fridge, toiletries and robes

The parking is underground and accessed by your room key, it costs $19 a night plus tax which is rather expensive. Just over the hotels driveway is a 'white spot' restaurant which is extremely good.

The hotel does have a small outdoor pool and jacuzzi area, we didnt use these as they were extremely full all the time.

Although the hotel was nice it was a dreadful nights sleep. We unfortunately was put in an adjoining room (not asked for) and you could hear everything the people said next door. Also at 3am there was numerous guests running up and down the corridors slamming doors.

When we came to check-out we wanted to settle our bill using travellers cheques (as credit cards occur an additional charge). The girl on the front desk was very rude and begrudgingly took them.

Although this hotel is in a good location for the shops, restaurants and bars I would not choose to stay here again.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get adjoining rooms.

We found a good deal at this place that was recently built. Its a short 5 minute walk to the middle of the village and easy to get to. The WhiteSpot restaurant is 50 feet away. Rooms were nicely dceorated and up to date. A small pool area is available.

My wife and I were in need of a getaway and found a great deal on the internet for this hotel. We stayed there on August 23rd and 24th and were not disappointed. Below is a basic run down of my opinion of the hotel.

Appearance: Very well groomed exterior and tidy interior. The contempory vibe of this hotel is very appealing and has a fresh feel to it as it has been recently renovated.

Room: Stayed on the 4th floor floor in a King bed room. Had an extremely high ceiling that gradually increased to about 20 feet on one side. Nice, big, free opening windows let in alot of light and fresh air. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked amazingly and was very quiet. A small fridge wsa in the room which was great, however the addition of a microwave would have been a nice touch. Beautiful washroom, but although the look of the open concept of the shower looked nice, it sprayed water outside of the shower. No big deal. Nice flat screen TV as well. Safe inside closet as well. Nice touch. Room was clean too- a big must for me.

Amenities: Outside pool and hot tub and interior sauna. All well kept and clean. Not to mention a beautiful view of the mountain while relaxing in them.

Location: Very close to the Village. About a two minute walk. Quiet at night and no traffic noise.

Staff: Freindly and inviting. The hot tub was acting up a bit (not holding water) and I brought it to the attention of the staff. The maintenance staff was there immediately and had it up and running in no time- it did not interfer with my morning soak.

Parking: Underground and secure. $19 a day.

All in all, a great place to stay and would highly recommend.

The Aava is a modern hotel on the edge of Whistler village and is ideal if you do not want to be too close to the nightlife of the area. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room had everything you could need and would find in a 5 star hotel. It does not have a restaurant but there is a White Spot across the street and the whole of the village to choose from within a minute's walk. It is peaceful and lounging in the hot tub watching the morning mist clear and the sun come up is magical! The rates for our room we thought were very good value for this resort. We hope to be back before too long.

Driveway of hotel is shared by the White Spot Restaurant - which is handy for breakfast, etc. There is no restaurant or lounge at the hotel itself. Hotel is just across the road from the walkway into Whistler Village, so it is much quieter. We had a room facing the inner courtyard so we did not get any highway noise (I don't know if there was any in any of the other rooms but the hotel is close to the highway). The room itself was one of the cleanest rooms we've ever had and we've travelled alot. The hotel itself is very pretty and well kept. There is a large, grassy boulevard out front for the dog walkers. Also, there is a small outdoor pool which seemed to be very popular with everyone. The hotel provides a bench out front with an ashtray for smokers (which is me) which I found very thoughtful. The smoke wouldn't have bothered any non-smokers going to the hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights attending a Corvette Meet and the staff was friendly and helpful. When we come back to Whistler we will definitely stay at this hotel.
