Description: Named for the curvature on the side of a ski or snowboard, Sidecut offers a modern take on traditional mountain cuisine. Situated in the celebrated alpine location of Whistler, the restaurant's sleek wood interior offers an inviting setting where diners can cozy up to the open fireplace or dine on our sun soaked patio. Enjoy dishes such as the Steakhouse "Sushi" Roll, Bourbon Birch Braised Belly of Pork, or prime-aged steakhouse cuts, cooked to perfection and inimitably paired with house-made rubs and signature sauces. Featuring a locally-sourced menu that evolves seasonally, the restaurant's farm- and ocean-to-table influence pays homage to British Columbia's diverse fare. To complement any meal, the extensive wine list features international labels as well as an exclusive selection of B.C.'S premier vintages. Here, steak is more than a meal. It's an experience.

Service is always top notch. Tried a few different options on the breakfast menu and they were all very good. The eggs Benedict was my favorite and their hash brown triangles are addictive, I am still thinking about them! I really enjoyed their fresh orange juice as well. A little pricey but always a nice experience.

Our family had the special Christmas dinner at Sidecut which consisted of long bone rib eye carved tableside by our personable excellent waiter. We also had starters, many side dishes, and dessert that was included in the special menu. The standouts, besides the deliciously seasoned and prepared meat, were the pork belly & scallops, potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. The cranberry tart and chocolate mousse were exceptional as well.

Fundamentally this is a place for a great steak. All out steaks were melt in your mouth, tender, delicious! The rest left more to be desired. Lovely presentation but just too many competing flavours. Nice chocolate desert, the steaks themselves and excellent wine list means I cannot just give it an average but for the price I probably should have. No I changed it...

I recently visited Whistler for a girls' weekend and we were staying at the Four Seasons Resort. After checking in on our first evening, we decided to eat dinner within the hotel and chose Sidecut over the adjacent Fifty Two 80 Bistro.

Our server, Mark, was charming and attentive and genuinely welcomed us as it was our first time visiting Sidecut. He explained the menu, the process (all the steaks are ordered à la carte) and suggested pairings. Sidecut offers a handful of rubs you can select for the cut of steak you choose, and all steaks are served with a quartet of house-made sauces.

We each chose a 6oz. tenderloin and I opted for the Black Angus rub - tangy with a bit of spice and as "classic" as a steak rub can be. Sides are served family style, so we dugs into whipped Yukon potatoes and roasted mushrooms with Alaskan King Crab legs on the side. Washing it all down with a glass or two of Inniskillan cabernet sauvignon, the meal was entirely decadent but every last crumb was mouthwateringly delicious. And speaking of crumbs, Mark brought us a basket of freshly-baked popovers and foccacia bread with whipped butter and celery salt. Wow.

All-in-all incredible. Though Sidecut offers a three-course meal option for $39, none of those options include a cut of steak. And let's be honest: the steak is why visitors come to Sidecut. You won't be disappointed.
