Description: Named for the curvature on the side of a ski or snowboard, Sidecut offers a modern take on traditional mountain cuisine. Situated in the celebrated alpine location of Whistler, the restaurant's sleek wood interior offers an inviting setting where diners can cozy up to the open fireplace or dine on our sun soaked patio. Enjoy dishes such as the Steakhouse "Sushi" Roll, Bourbon Birch Braised Belly of Pork, or prime-aged steakhouse cuts, cooked to perfection and inimitably paired with house-made rubs and signature sauces. Featuring a locally-sourced menu that evolves seasonally, the restaurant's farm- and ocean-to-table influence pays homage to British Columbia's diverse fare. To complement any meal, the extensive wine list features international labels as well as an exclusive selection of B.C.'S premier vintages. Here, steak is more than a meal. It's an experience.

“A cut above the rest.”

If you find yourself with the primal urge to explore your inner caveman whilst at Whistler then Sidecut is the place for you. Not because you have long hair, a protruding jaw and a fur coat (although some patrons have at least one of the above) but because you are in need of serious red meat. Located in the Four Seasons hotel, Sidecut is pretty relaxed, has a great wine list and the rubs they use on the meat are interesting and innovative. This place is strangely suggestive. I don’t know why but I will leave it to you find out for yourselves.

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

I can honestly say this was our best meal in Whistler. It is expensive do be prepared, but not ridiculously so, expect around $100 a head. The steaks were fabulous, the fish less so, but still okay. They could do with slightly simpler rubs for the meat as there is a risk that it is overfussy and spoils excellent meat, but my t-bone was to die for. The veal rib amazing and the tenderloin perfectly cooked. The breads arriving before dinner were delicious. Service was superb. My young son spilt a cocktail and it was replaced without hesitation or charge. The wine list is overpriced in my view, but was good. Nice atmosphere and a real treat.

“Posh Steak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

We visited Sidecut twice during our recent stay in Whistler.

The meals are slightly more expensive than you would find in the Village but the meat is excellent qualtiy and the rubs really add to the flavours of the steak.

The hostess and the waiting staff are attentive and helpful.

“excellent steak”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Had the T bone again here - it really is very good. Didn't think much of my apatizer (ceaser) but the steak is to die for. I do think the best in Whistler having tried pretty well all the other places.

Service this time was very good - unlike last time, but I still don't get this fascination with the rubs and sauces. At least I tried a few this time - but I can't say they enhanced the experience.

“Great food and average service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

It took well over half and hour for our pre dinner drinks to Arrive and an hour plus for our entree. We had three or four waiters and they were good when they attended us but it was sporadic. We started with local oysters that were great. The highlight was undoubtedly the steaks, they were prepared perfectly with a rub of your choosing and then a selection of sauces (about 10) at the table, it was one of the best steaks I have had. Price was top end but fair. If only the service was better I would have rated Sidecut as excellent.
