Description: Named for the curvature on the side of a ski or snowboard, Sidecut offers a modern take on traditional mountain cuisine. Situated in the celebrated alpine location of Whistler, the restaurant's sleek wood interior offers an inviting setting where diners can cozy up to the open fireplace or dine on our sun soaked patio. Enjoy dishes such as the Steakhouse "Sushi" Roll, Bourbon Birch Braised Belly of Pork, or prime-aged steakhouse cuts, cooked to perfection and inimitably paired with house-made rubs and signature sauces. Featuring a locally-sourced menu that evolves seasonally, the restaurant's farm- and ocean-to-table influence pays homage to British Columbia's diverse fare. To complement any meal, the extensive wine list features international labels as well as an exclusive selection of B.C.'S premier vintages. Here, steak is more than a meal. It's an experience.

There speciality is steak but also does sea food and game such as venison.
Even if you're not totally into steak, it's worth trying one here as they are the best, with endless different cuts, rubs and sauces available.
Service on any if our visits has been perfect - the staff are superb.
A meal got two, on average, costs us over $200 but you leave knowing you've had a quality dining experience.
Go on, treat yourself.

“Great Place to Eat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Four of us had dinner at Side Cut this week, it was sensational. The server was informative, friendly and so accommodating. From the basket of breads, to the final coffee and dessert, the entire experience was one a memorable meal for every one of us. The shareable sides enhanced our experience, all of us got a little taste of several perfectly cooked accompaniements. The lobster was amazing and perfectly prepared. My tenderloin steak exactly rare, like i like it, and my husband had an amazing slab of King Salmon that was perfection. Our buddy got a huge steak and the rub lit him up, he is a restauranteur himself and his praises were high. The selection of sauces was fun, but we did not want to adulterate perfection.

“Family Day 2013”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

Our server, April, was delightful and exemplifies what a great dining experience should be as a complement to the food.

My daughter found herself becoming addicted to the buttermilk scones and cornbread muffins and April arranged for one on the servers to come by the table to let us know that she would bring some more. She forgot but April did not and once she noticed that more had not been brought, addressed this immediately.

We happened to be seated by a family with young children who were brought gummy worms for dessert. This transported my daughter and I to her days at summer camp when her mother and I would bring up gummy bears, sour worms and the like when visiting. I asked April if she could bring some for my daughter who is now in her her twenties and she quickly returned with some. She also brought a takeaway carton of the buttermilk scones to satisfy the addiction, a wonderful touch.

Again, April was superlative!

Food wise, my salad, a frisée, was a touch too salty, the tenderloin and sauces scrumptious, and asparagus with the poached egg delightful. For dessert, we shared the banana cream pie. The presentation was lovely but the box crust not well suited to the pie.

My daughter quite liked her starter along with the salmon as her main course. She loves mushrooms and found them very much to her liking.

Would I return? Without question.

“Great steaks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

Steaks are superb but side dishes somewhat disappointing, especially it's lame rendition of mac n cheese. Our waiter was also quite absent minded - completely forgot our drinks order, not once but twice! Also, we made an advance booking but found ourselves sitting in the bar section. This should really be mentioned at time of booking as the experience is vastly different - bar section was too casual, dark and noisy, total mismatch with the food offering.

“Excellent steaks, but..”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

We went here as it was recommended as having great steaks and a large selection of wines 'by the glass'.
The steaks themselves were excellent...4 of us ordered a different cut each. All were tender, tasty and beautifully cooked.BUT, such a 'high end' restaurant shouldn't have a range of 'rubs' then 'sauces' to try at the table...that's more what I'd expect at a 'family grill'. Surely the chefs could do better and more appropriate sauces?
We all felt the prices were way too high for what we got AND the selection of wines 'by the glass' was very small (not as advertised in a dining book at our resort).
Our waiter had a very condescending attitude and wasn't at all friendly.
The entertainer that night was excellent...his voice was very 'James Taylorish', so he did his covers very well.
