Description: Named for the curvature on the side of a ski or snowboard, Sidecut offers a modern take on traditional mountain cuisine. Situated in the celebrated alpine location of Whistler, the restaurant's sleek wood interior offers an inviting setting where diners can cozy up to the open fireplace or dine on our sun soaked patio. Enjoy dishes such as the Steakhouse "Sushi" Roll, Bourbon Birch Braised Belly of Pork, or prime-aged steakhouse cuts, cooked to perfection and inimitably paired with house-made rubs and signature sauces. Featuring a locally-sourced menu that evolves seasonally, the restaurant's farm- and ocean-to-table influence pays homage to British Columbia's diverse fare. To complement any meal, the extensive wine list features international labels as well as an exclusive selection of B.C.'S premier vintages. Here, steak is more than a meal. It's an experience.

“Fabulous steak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

We had the cut on the bone for 2 or 3 people which really would have served 4. It was very tasty, tender and well presented.

The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were attentive without being oppressive.

Can't comment on price as I was being treated.

The sommelier recommended a fabulous Napa Cabernet Sauvignon which I would like to find to buy for my home.

Very enjoyable.

“Not at this price point”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

At this price point average at best... Dinner for 2:
2 Apps, 36 Oz bone-in Ribeye, 2 Sides, 3 watered down cocktails (must be pouring from measured shots), 1 btl of Washington State cabernet (even though the menu said California), 15% tip $400 ; Granted the btl of wine was $125 and was good...

Pros:
Service was good, atmosphere was lively, cassoulet side dish was honestly best part of the meal they should offer as a main course!

Cons:
Drinks $12 each were measured pours and my Old Fashioned was more soda than drink. Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing was watery and the tomatoes had no taste

Meh:
36 oz Ribeye was good but not $110 good. They bring out all these sauces and have multiple rubs... Really? Good steak should stand alone. It was good but again not $110 good. We ordered medium rare and it was cooked slightly cooler but better cooler than warmer.

Desert menu was not to our liking so we ordered room service.

“Mostly delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

The seafood was delicious here -- shellfish to real fish. My dessert, a take off on s'mores, was unbelievably decadent and delightful. Never had a better version! The service was a bit spotty, but it was right after Christmas, so perhaps they were tired. We returned for brunch a few days later and give that 5 stars!

“Date Night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

My wife and I recently had the opportunity to go on "Date NIght" and choose this restauraunt due to it's proximity to hwere we were staying. Although we turned up over an hour early for our reservation they fitted us in. The nosiey bar that you had to walk through to get to Sidecut was not a good first impression but once in the restaurant the noise was background atmosphere.
The menu was somewhat confronting when first reviewed but the waiter put us at ease and guided us thorugh the process. The meals we had were lovely and the sides were not a second rate accompliament but a taste sensation in their own right. With 16 types of rub fo rthe meat and approximately 8 saces to accompany the meat there were new flavours right to the last bite.

“Incredible”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Our meal here was so good, that the next time we cancelled our reservation at a different restaurant so that we could eat here again. All the meat was amazing and perfectly cooked, tuna and salmon were spectacular, and all of the sides - especially the mashed potatoes - were great as well. Great atmosphere and service.
