Description: Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.

Whistler has some great restaurants. It can be hard to choose. It had been a while since I'd been to Whistler and I didn't want to depend on the ads in the Hotel magazines, so we asked a local where to eat. We wanted to eat at a nice, small bistro type of place for a casual meal. We were told about Alta Bistro and I am so glad we went. We sat at the bar and chatted with the friendly bartender and locals. (If locals come here, it must be good!). They offered a 3 course menu to choose from (I had a green salad, house cured steel head trout (appie) and OMG good Seared Albacore Tuna. Luckily the hotel we were had a shuttle service, so we could enjoy a lovely bottle of wine with our amazing meal. Great conversation, atmosphere, service and food. It's a special place - I'd suggest reservations.

We stumbled upon this quaint bistro, and ended up there at least twice during our stay. The menu was very creative and somewhat adventurous, and not one item was less than delicious. We sat at the bar each time and had a very nice time meeting the waitstaff and owners. Highly recommended.

What an incredible experience I had dining here with three girlfriends last weekend. The service was polished and comfortable with all staff members showing intense attention to detail. Each food item was perfectly presented and made with such care. Love the philosophy here supporting local farmers and suppliers and thinking about quality through and through. 4 courses for $30 of beautifully prepared food = dynamite! Highly recommended!

This was the best meal of the trip for us. Prix-fixe menu, many choices within each course. Everything was prepared with attention to detail, and thoughtful. Waitstaff explained sourcing of all local ingredients. We just loved our meal there.

We had heard good things about this place but it exceeded all expectations, seriously. We were lucky enough to be there during dine out so the value was amazing. Eric, one of the owners, was incredibly helpful and every course was fresh, innovative, locally sourced and fab in every way. We had a bottle of wine from Tuscany that blew our minds. Food was creative and original. Service was attentive without being over the top. And while they didn't know it was my bday, the overall experience made for the best birthday meal ever! Thanks guys, we will most definitely be back. Again and again.
