Whistler has some great restaurants. It can be hard to choose. It had been a while since I'd been to Whistler and I didn't want to depend on the ads in the Hotel magazines, so we asked a local where to eat. We wanted to eat at a nice, small bistro type of place for a casual meal. We were told about Alta Bistro and I am so glad we went. We sat at the bar and chatted with the friendly bartender and locals. (If locals come here, it must be good!). They offered a 3 course menu to choose from (I had a green salad, house cured steel head trout (appie) and OMG good Seared Albacore Tuna. Luckily the hotel we were had a shuttle service, so we could enjoy a lovely bottle of wine with our amazing meal. Great conversation, atmosphere, service and food. It's a special place - I'd suggest reservations.
