After 4 years visiting Whistler in the 1990's, we joined Club Intrawest in 1996 at the Whistler property. Our visit from 26 Jan.-2 Feb., 2013 was our 11th to our "home" Club Intrawest Whistler. As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our week, and our two bedroom lock-off lodge more than met our needs. However, all was not perfect, and that is why I am writing this review.
CI Whistler is an extremely popular property, and it seems to be very well run. However, in terms of maintenance or design, things could be improved. I will begin with our dishwasher. In order to close the door of the dishwasher (which in the unit we had this year was oddly placed right next to the laundry/utility room wall and door), I had to wiggle it out away from the wall. Overtime this issue has resulted in a distortion of the door of the dishwasher as well as damage to the wall. A new, slimmer profile dishwasher could solve this problem. It, and the other appliances in the unit (except the washer/dryer) could use updating.
I have always enjoyed the hot tubs in the Adult Environment, but this year the newer and larger tub was always closed. The showers in the rest room in that area were also out of order whenever I tried to use them. On previous visits, I have enjoyed the opportunity to shower down there and thus ease the strain on the two showers in our unit at the end of each ski day. These are really not major issues, but in the overall scheme of things and in the spirit of the image which Club Intrawest wishes to convey, they should not be overlooked.
We still feel that our investment in Club Intrawest was a wise one, and we look forward to many more trips "home" as well as to the other CI and HGVC properties that we have enjoyed visiting over the last 16 years.

We are Intrawest members and stayed here for a week, can not fault it. We have two boys 13 and 16. The heated pools are great my youngest loved the slide and movie theatre was a hit also. We stayed in a 2 bedroom propery, plenty of space, loads of closets which is great with all the ski gear and very comfortable. The walk to the liifts at Blackcomb is literally minutes and we took the shuttle to Whistler village the first day but by the time you wait for the bus it really is a short walk about 10 mins when you go the scenic way, there is a lovely trail that takes you to the village or you can walk the road way.

We have just returned from an 11 night stay at the Intrawest Whistler (located in Blackcomb), as part of a promotional deal for us to sample the resort with a view to membership. Overall we had a most enjoyable stay, and the facilities and club features are excellent (especially the pool & club activities), however, considering the cost of a membership here (and the price we actually paid for our stay), I did expect a higher level of accommodation particularly as it is not in the ideal ski-in ski-out location.

Unfortunately when we booked our stay, despite it being more than 8 months in advance and not during the local school holiday period or President’s week, there were no 2 bedroom condos available, and so we had to opt for a “2 bedroom lockout” which is essentially a 1 bedroom plus a studio. The layout and features didn’t function as well as a straight 2 bedroom would, and meant that our kids were sharing a queen size bed. Relatively small points, but when we were staying for 11 days, by the end of it the small things had started to get a little annoying eg. all the cupboards were obscured by the doors to the individual apartments (which we had to leave open as our 2 children are quite young) – every day there was a clanging of doors as we struggled to pull our gear in and out of the cupboards. I expect the living area in the 1 bedroom was smaller than a 2 bedroom would have been, but it was still very spacious and comfortable.

Pros:
- resort has great street appeal and character
- staff were very friendly and helpful
- common areas have welcoming décor and are well maintained
- ski lockers on the ground floor
- kids LOVED the pool & waterslide (one of the stand out features of this resort)
- great facilities & activities – separate adult area & pools, cinema, lots of resort activities
- good sized master bathroom with lovely spa, good water pressure & temperature every morning
- condos are generally very spacious
- nice living room with comfy couches and lovely gas fire heater
- our condo was serviced twice during our stay, and the standard of housekeeping was excellent
- grocery store onsite open until 10pm
- nice location in Blackcomb village – across the road from the Fairmont & Glacier Lodge with their restaurants, cafes & spas; and a pretty walk into Whistler Village across well maintained paths (no need to hike down snowhills or long winding streets as for some of the ski-in ski-out condos located hillside)

Cons
- location – 5 min walk to the Blackcomb lifts every morning which we found difficult with the kids
- condos are starting to look a little dated & tired
- not as private as I would have liked – every room appears to have a view over the street, communal areas or into other condos, rather than looking at snow covered trees or mountains
- temperature regulation unpredictable – generally, the condo would get too hot at night despite me turning the thermostats down before bed, but as we were on the ground floor I didn’t feel that I could keep the windows open at night
- our bed was terribly uncomfortable – I am so used to climbing into pillowtop mattresses in 4-5 star hotels, and it was only because of the sheer exhaustion of a ski holiday that I would sleep through the night . After waking up with a sore neck & back every morning, we finally discovered on the last day that the queen size bed in the studio the kids were sleeping in was actually more comfortable

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this lovely resort. Bottom line – would we stay here again? Yes, absolutely, but I would recommend booking early enough to get a proper 2 bedroom condo, and see my podiatrist beforehand to get my feet in tip-top shape for the ski-boot-walk to the lifts each morning!

We are Marriott timeshare owners trading in to this resort. It is nice enough but no where near as nice as Marriotts in ski resorts. Living room and kitchen area a little small so 2 Lovesets seem a bit crowded. Have updated with new paint and bathroom faucets but it does seem a little dated still. It is a ski lodge kind of place, not a luxury resort. Fun for families with young children which is probably the target audience. Nonetheless, if you want to ski Whistler, this is the only timeshare trade and it's hard to get. If you are paying as a hotel, there are enter options.

They do have a kids slide, the pool is heated in the winter, they have a gas grill outside and ski locker storage.
The free shuttle bus is nearly impossible to figure out and no one has a good map!
It is a fairly easy walk to the Wizard chair lift and there is a base lodge where you can leave shoes if you don't like walking in ski boots.

We stayed here for a week on their timeshare promotion purchased a year ago. The location is very good but would have preferred ski in ski out....like the Aspens. The two bedroom apartment was wonderful. The master had a huge jacuzzi bath with ensuite. The second bedroom also had it's own ensuite. The master had a king bed and the second bedroom had a queen. The large living room had a pull out queen bed sofa which was very comfortable. We could also fit a rollaway in the living room for my daughter and there was ample space. The kitchen was extremely adequate with the laundry conveniently beside it. The whole apartment had 3 plasma tvs also. The club service was excellent and the outdoor heated pool was a real novelty in the snow. We were a family of 6. It was very comfortable, spacious and quiet for our needs. We would come back again but only wished it was ski in/out. Although the walk is about 5 minutes at the most.

A week at Club IntraWest - Whistler was both comfortable and relaxing.
You can be as involved, or active, or retiring as you want!
The accomodation was excellent, we stayed in a 1 bedroom lodge (fireplace, full kitchen and a large bathroom) and enjoyed the privacy and the view from our windows.
This is a great spot to stay in the Upper Village only a short walk to the Blackcomb Wizard lifts, the small shopping area and only a 10 minutew walk to the gondola and lifts in the Whistler Village.
A stay is well worth it, this was our third!

Room Tip: All upper level rooms have good views!
