“Clean, Functional, Friendly Service & Great Location”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

This was my first time to Whistler so I can't compare it with other hotels but for the price and location it would be pretty hard to beat. Right in the centre of Whistler village, it's on top of all the restaurants and activities. It's the little things that make a difference and having a pot of hot coffee and cookies in the reception was a really nice touch (they do have a french press and coffee in the rooms too). The service was good, the staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and were friendly, helpful and efficient and of course the hot tub and small pool were a welcome break after a day trekking around the mountains (ok so by that I mean a trip on the gondolas and lunch at Earl's but you get the idea). As a comparison the rooms are like the UK's Premier Inn with a bit of additional personality, clean and functional. A big plus for any pet lover is that they allow dogs. I'd recommend Adara for anyone needing a nice base but not necessarily if you're thinking of proposing or going on honeymoon.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are split level with the bedrooms on a mezzanine though sadly none of them have ba...

Thank you very much for your complimentary review. We are very proud of our hotel and the work that we do trying to insure that we exceed the expectations of our guests. All of our loft suites do have balconies looking at the magnificent Whistler scenery. I hope some guest to come to propose or celebrate a honeymoon as this is a very romantic hotel.

My husband and I frequently visit Whistler for the weekend and have stayed in a number of hotels. We booked the Adara because the photos on their website looked nice enough and it was described as a ‘funky boutique’ hotel. Don’t be fooled!

The décor of the rooms is certainly very distinctive. If you like shabby, run down, scratched and stained bright red and décor then this place is for you!

I slept the first night with a towel stretched around my pillow. Mind you, when I say slept I'm not sure for how long because of the horrific noise pumping out from the nightclub below. The hotel don’t hide this, but definitely don’t say here if you’re after a good night’s sleep.

The entire hotel is generally quite run down and in dire need of a re-fit. It’s obviously neglected and not managed very well. Some of the staff were friendly enough, but they really lacked any enthusiasm and didn't seem to enjoy working there. It's a shame as I imagine Whistler is such a great place to live and work.

In my opinion there are plenty of better hotels to choose from in Whistler. You can’t argue about the Adara’s central location but that’s probably all it has going for it.

We won't be returning, unless they have a major re-fit!

We appreciate all reviews, good and bad. We have now completed the refurbishment of 14 suites and will have the rest finished by the beginning of our wonderful winter season. We hope to see you will give us another chance in the future, camping with the bears is not recommended :-). I for one, love this hotel and love working here.

The hotelroom was very nice. Heavenly beds and a beautiful bathroom. The hotel is located in the Whistler centre, only steps away from all the action. Which was exactly what caused that we were kept awake for most of the night. Some rooms on the backside of the hotel are adjacent to a nightclub. From 12 to 2:30 am there were at some point about a hundred of people partying outside and just underneath our window. Sleeping was definitly impossible. The management afterwards told us that it is a known problem that appears to be limited to busy weekends and holidays. We understand that there is not much the management can do about the party outside, but we felt that he should have cautioned us. In that case we would have chosen a different hotel.

Thank you for your review. Whistler is a lively fun place to be and as a result there is the possibility that guests may be disturbed by music and visitors out and about after midnight. We want our guests to enjoy their stay and have a good night sleep. To reduce the possibility of being disturbed we have put a white noise machines in every room with a variety of sounds designed to minimize the impact of outside noise. As well we have made ear plugs available. We understand that some guests are light sleepers. If this is the case please let us know and we will try to allocate a room on the quieter side of the building.

I just spent an overnight stay here with my boyfriend. First impressions weren't too bad. The hotel lobby looks warm and inviting, although the actual reception desk is small and tucked out of the way. The hotel is in the perfect location - right in the middle of Whistler village. Parking is valet only at a cost of $20 per night.
We stayed on the second floor, and the only way we could find to get there was via the very small and very noisy elevator. The hallways are very dark and depressing (dark grey walls and red doors) and didn't smell very pleasant. The actual room was fairly spacious but somewhat shabby. The decor isn't your usual hotel decor - it's like the 80's met up with the 70's and had it's love child! There was a red sofa / chaise in the room which was covered in long blonde hair. The white plastic chair and baseboards needed a good clean, and the magazine holder was covered in dodgy looking stains. The shower head needed a good scrub as it looked pretty gross. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and there was a good selection of magazines in the room.
There are complimentary cookies, drinks and apples in the lobby. We weren't informed of this during our stay and only knew about them from reading reviews on here! We also weren't informed about the pool or hot tub, which might have been useful information to know. There was noise from the nightclub below, but I was so tired that I slept through it.
I would not choose to stay at this hotel again. The Adara calls itself a boutique hotel, but I have in stayed in much nicer budget hotels for less.

thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed our bed, the complimentary breakfast bars, cookies and apples. We understand that our award winning design is not everyone's taste. That being said, we are very proud of the design of our property and most guests are very complimentary. At present we are refurbishing all of our rooms with deep cleaning, defect repairs and painting in anticipation of another amazing Whistler winter.

This is the 2nd time my friends and I have stayed at this hotel and have been very satisfied each time. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is located right in the heart of Whistler Village. We generally go to Whistler as a 1 night excursion for a girls night and are able to shop, eat and go dancing within the general vicinity of the hotel. They also have warm cookies, apples and fresh coffee in the front lobby if your into that sort of thing. Also, the hotel is surprisingly quiet at night considering it's located right above a night club. Would definitely return.

We were greeted by friendly staff, and fresh homemade cookies and coffee available in the lobby.
The rooms are big, and the decoration is well done. Nice large bathroom and shower.
The manager is very knowledgable about the best places to eat, and is very helpful to plan a stay.
We enjoyed the Adara, obviously every effort is made by the manager and staff to make your time there as enjoyable as possible.
The hotel is well placed close to all the lifts and attractions.
I highly recommend this hotel.

my friend and i decided to go away to whistler for a few days. we brought along her younger sister and her friend who are both underaged. the manager made the biggest scene in the world about how theyre not our children and if theyre underaged they cant stay there with us. after about 30 minutes of talking with him he finally said "he'd make an acceptation this time..." and let us stay but he was the biggest jerk about it. overall the place was very nice and in a wonderful location. the beds were super comfy but the A/C sucked.

All guests must be over 18 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. No exceptions. Underage drinking in the room will also no longer be accepted.
