Mark, the van driver went out of his way to accommodate us, suggest restaurants and make our stay enjoyable. The front desk was also very helpful and the hotel is located across the street from a market that has a great deli and soups and sandwiches for those nights when you want to get something quick and save a few bucks.

Room Tip: I skied teh room location was not an issue.

We just finished a stay with this hotel. We stayed in a deluxe double queen room. The size of the room is adequate for a family of four (we have a 10 and 8 year old). My only real complaint with the room is the lack of storage. When traveling to Whistler during ski season, you will have tons of clothing and accessories to store. The room needs a row of hooks to hang jackets, gloves, hats, goggles, etc. The only other issue we had was housekeeping not leaving enough towels 3 days in a row and then not being able to easily get more as well as not replenishing shampoo and conditioner which with 2 females with long hair we needed daily. Overall the rest of the hotel service was great. The location of the hotel is right across the street from the Olympic Plaza where there is free ice skating daily with only a $5 skate rental fee if you didn't bring your own. There are tons of great places to eat close by, a grocery store a 1 min. walk away, and a 10 min walk to the base of the mountain. A shuttle is provided to the base if the mountain every 10 min if you prefer. The hotel also provides an amazing coffee/tea/hot cocoa machine that actually grinds fresh beans for each cup of coffee. The hotel also has self service laundry facilities for $1.50 a load. We did use the spa and pool. Both are small but adequate. We would stay here again!

good time
didnt have pets, didnt want to see/ hear pets. no problem at all. apart from seeing the pets in the lobby, we didnt know there were pets in the hotel.

one reccommendation - the cleanging agent used is a little strong, and does have a pungent smell when you first get into the room....but dissipates (or i got used to) over time.

other than that....good value for money

We have been up to Whistler a few times and have found this company through a Groupon. We liked having the small kitchen and small refrigerator in our room. We did have to become creative to use the space because it really is small as far as counter space goes to be able to prep and cook. We made it work for us as a family of four. I missed having my own room with a door that closed because it is an open space unit with two beds.

They have a place to drop off your skis and snowboards, we even got ours waxed and it was worth it by these guys, they know what they are doing! Parking was easy. The hot tub was a fun group of different international guest, which we love to expose our kids to. Our daughter found a friend from Norway. They played in the pool using hand questers to communicate it was really fun for her. They ran out of pool towels a few days that was a bummer.

The spa is wonderful. The Indonesian women who run it and provide a unique type of massage was well worth the price for the experience and the benefits of the massage after being on the mountain.

We missed having a washer and dryer in our unit. When we stay longer we will need to stay at another hotel that has one.

Of course you must go to Elements restaurant on the ground floor. I liked there french toast but I loved their corn cakes, I will have to go to Whistler just for those! We went to Araxi too because we had such a awful time the first experience they sent us GC to go again. It was wonderful and still expensive for what we got . I am not sure we will go again, we may try another" Fancy" restaurant (as my girls call it) when we go back up.

Lessons for the teens and tween are so worth the price. They each had a great time and came back more confident on the mountain and we got to be on the mountain, just us adults for the day.

The front desk was kind but I wish they could have informed us with our wake up call that the shuttle operator was sick. We had to get the girls to their lessons and the extra time it took to take the bus added stress and put us in a time crunch. We did not know it was not going that day until we go tin the elevator to do down to get our equipment. I think having a backup employee that can do that job is important.

We loved seeing other peoples dogs and did not notice any barking.

I think that is about it enjoy.

We stayed here for 7 nights on our first ski trip to the resort. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean - we didn't have it cleaned every day by our choice but our cleaner, Ramona left notes to remind us! There was a bath which is excellent for post- skiing and plenty of hot water. We did not make use of the spa but heard good reports.
The ski room guys store your skis and give good weather, lift, ski type etc. tips and were typically very cheerful - as were the rest of the staff.
The transport was great. No more than 10 min wait to go or return and driver, Mark was really good value - always in his hat and sunglasses and he was most helpful when I lost my husband at the end of the day by driving around and making 'phone calls!
We would certainly return to Summit Lodge.
