If you want a quiet place with a full kitchen that is 5 minutes walk from the main village then look here.
First of all want to say that I discovered only too late that the Pinnacle was built in 1996 and renovated back in 2001. Had I known this earlier I may have made a change to a hotel renovated more recently.
From first blush, the outside of this hotel looks like any other, until you get to the front door which is a little less fancy with the unpowered double glass doors with metal handles. The lobby is quaint with a small check in desk. Nice polite staff.
Going up the one of two elevators to our deluxe 4th floor suite, a faint odor was detected which was prevalent even in our room. I will grant that for a snow resort that gets a lot of wet patrons over the years will tend to leave a musty wet smell...don't hope for lemon fresh.
The room was a fair size with a high steepled ceiling. We only noticed that the upper set of windows did not have black out curtains, nor any curtains at all. If you have to, use the sofa cushions to cover the upper window. The 1996 age shows even with the supposed 2001 renovation as our room had peeling wallpaper and paint, and the bed spread was a bit gaudish for our taste.
The TV is oddly placed on top of the very high fireplace, so viewing is not easily done from the sofa. The bed is better. As per other comments made, there is no drawer space for clothes, only two closets. Not very convenient as most of our stuff spent their time sprawled over chairs.
For Ipod owners, there is a convenient Ipod radio that you can hook your tunes up to.
The kitchen is the right size and stocked with all that you would need to cook. Warning, the range hood does not vent outside but instead back into the room so don't try cooking anything that will smoke excessively as the smoke alarm 14 feet up on the ceiling will not be accessable. There is a nice small table for eating.
There is a big jacuzzi in the room. Probably best in winter.
The bathroom is small with little counter space for your stuff.
Finally the temperature. In the warmer weather the room, being on the top floor heats up. If you like sleeping with an air conditioner on, with both the cold air issues and the noise issues, then this place is for you. If you can't sleep like this then perhaps a different place with a more modern, and quieter air conditioning system.
Overall, like i said, it was okay, but not great. It may have been our particular room, but there are other hotels in Whistler that are a bit more up to date that I think are more impressive.

On this ski trip to Whistler – our third – we elected to stay at the Pinnacle Hotel. The Pinnacle is a smaller property [fewer rooms] located just outside the core Whistler Village but close enough for an easy walk to the ski lifts. Our choice of the Pinnacle was influenced by discounts offered and room availability for a six-night stay. We didn’t need any more space than a hotel room, but wanted kitchenette facilities for breakfasts and after-ski.

We found Pinnacle wonderfully suited for our needs. The hotel was very clean and the common areas had a fresh [as opposed to tired] look. There was daily maid service. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the look of recognition each morning and afternoon as we passed the front desk. We did not feel like a just another nameless guest, which is how we felt in previous years at larger hotels in Whistler.

Our first night we were given a room where the hotel’s free wireless Internet could not reach. The next morning, we asked if we could be moved since we had business to conduct via email. The hotel accommodated us cheerfully and moved all of our luggage while we were off skiing.

Whistler Village is home to many fine hotels. If one’s measure of a ski holiday includes the ability to drop the name of a fancy hotel during shared gondola rides and includes the regular use of spas, workout rooms, aquatic centers, HDTV theatre, lobby lounges, etc then Pinnacle wont score highly. If one vacations at Whistler to ski then Pinnacle offers excellent value. The value comes with a few sacrifices. For instance there is no valet ski storage. There are no boot dryers [bring your own portable model]. The kitchen is minimal. The room is on the smaller side. There is a jacuzzi tub in the living/sleeping area [as opposed to the bathroom].

For us, the positives prevailed: excellent staff, clean, friendly, functional Internet, close location. We will use the Pinnacle again for our next visit.

I stayed in the Pinnacle over Christmas break in 2005. The hotel is very nice. Location is far from the noisy Whistler night life while at the same time close enough to be of easy reach toe everything. I liked the in room hot tub and fireplace. They were of decent size. My room had no view but that was OK. The staff were incredibly polite and accommodating. The hotel itself is a bit dated and could use a facelift however it was clean. All in all good value for money and I would consider staying in the same hotel again.

Excellent qualtiy room with all you could want for a skiing holiday. The staff were brilliant and kindly helped us with all of our enquiries.

The spa in the room was the icing on the cake and after a long days skiing it was put to good use.

The best value accommodation on our 7 week RTW

We stayed at the Pinnale over Xmas week and New Years.
The hotel is in a great location. it is right next to teh bus stop for the free shuttle to the lifts and also 2 minutes from the pedestrian walk way. too far to walk to the lift in ski boots but great when in normal boots/shoes.

the staff was young, friendly and tried to be helpful.

the rooms were ok. the double jacuzzi in our room was great. the gas fireplace worked 20% of the time. the kitchen was small but stocked with all of the tools and pots/pans you would need on vacation. the bathroom was tiny. teh bed was too close to the jacuzzi .

The hotel is very very clean. it seamed like someone was always in teh hall cleaning.

i would stay there again although the prices around Xmas were pretty high for what you get.

For the price of less than $150 inc taxes we couldn't fault the Pinncale. Our room was excellent, with a balcony, jacuzzi bath and kitchen facilities. The hotel is located in the town centre with easy walking access to all the facilities you would want. Contrary to one review we found the staff on the front desk very helpful. Weather was cool and damp but we still managed a dip in the outdoor pool. The only downsides are the lack of an on site restaurant for breakfast, and the restricted size of some of the spaces in the underground car park.

First of all, I would like to say the front desk staff was awesome. Stuart provided excellent service and was extremely friendly ! Much appreciated.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just a short walk to the base of the mountain for shopping, eating and the mountain bike park.
Our room had 2 queen beds and a jacuzzi in the room..nice for relaxing after a long day. We did not have a balcony, but there were slider doors which could be opened to let in fresh air...which was needed since we set off the smoke alarm while cooking in the mini kitchen.
The kitchen offered the opportunity to do some cooking in our room. Little stove, fridge and sink.
The pool and hot tub were small.
Would certainly stay at the Pinnacle again, any time ! !
