This place had everthing you could want - comfortable bed, great shower, kitchenette and a view out of this world. Spottlessly clean with very helpful staff. We could not have asked for anything better. Would we stay there again? YES!!!! The next time we go back to Whistler, that'll be our home base. We were less than 100 steps to everything we wanted to see and do. Keep up the good work.

We have stayed at a few different places in Whistler. TheExecutive Inn is one of the better places if you are after something basic in the heart of downtown. Again this place is nothing fancy. We had a clean room with kitchenette with a balcony that looked out into the heart of village stroll. The hotel is in a great location just minutes from the base gondolas. They have a secure ski room downstairs which is very secure so leaving your ski stuff there made it very easy to get to the lifts from your room in a few minutes (not even 5 minutes walking). They also have pay parking which is first come first serve. We were lucky and were able to get a paid parking spot. If we did not we would have had to park our car across the street at the outside overnight parking lot.

Just like any place right along village stroll you will hear the people at night so bring ear plugs. We were there for St.Patrick's day, and I had ear plugs in knowing that it may get quite loud. I slept fine but understand that without earplugs, you might have a bad experience.

The person working there had said that they just renovated the rooms, before the 2010 Olympics, and at the same time fixed the elevator; so all the earlier reviews with the elevator not working; it now works.

The is definite downside to this hotel which is HUGE. They don't have a spa, sauna or pool, so if you are thinking of relaxing in a hot tub after a day on the slopes, then you are out of luck. Also they do not have a business center for wireless internet. We did not ask about paying for internet either, so not sure if they offer wireless or not.

We stayed there while under major renos (new elevator) and it was still a disappointment. Unfinished room should not have been let. When asking for a hair dryer, non available. Typical of many service issues. An e-mail to the manager after our stay with constructive criticism elicited no reply. They have some unerstandable serious challenges prior to the Olympics and must learn how to deal with their customers.

During the 30 or so years my wife and I have skied at Whistler, we have experienced a wide range of accommodation, from the 5-star Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort to the 1-star (if even that!) Ski Boot Motel. For the last 14 seasons we have chosen to stay exclusively at the Executive Inn (formerly the Fireplace Inn). In terms of value, location, cleanliness, but especially quality of service, from General Manager Robert Hayward through his entire staff, we simply cannot imagine staying anywhere else! In fact, we have never enjoyed greater consideration and respect during the course of our travels, including several trips abroad. We shall eagerly look forward to many return visits to Whistler's Executive Inn, especially considering the extensive renovation currently taking place (the elevator will be a most welcome addition, given imminent knee-replacement surgery!).
