“Excellent location, clean, comfortable and lovely staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

This was our second visit to the Crystal Lodge, we also stayed in 2010 and didn't want to book anywhere else. This trip to Canada was a 20th wedding anniversary treat to ourselves and the management and staff left us a lovely bottle of bubbly and an annivesary card. What a lovely touch. The suite was lovely. Very fresh, spotlessly clean, spacious with lovely decor. Mini kitchen, inc a microwave and fridge, plus excellent air conditioning! Bed was lovely and big and very comfortable. We ate in the Spaghetti Factory downstairs and the staff in there were also very happy and friendly. The pool area is lovely. Swimming with the mountains in the background, followed by a soak in the jacuzzi. Pool seating and towels provided. All in all it's a 10/10 from us and a big thumbs up to the staff and management for making our stay so nice :)

Weirdly laid out hotel jammed in around some shops and restaurants. All perfectly satisfactory but nothing special. Room was a bit small - no room for 2 suitcases open at the same time.

Expensive parking - $22 per day compared to $8 per day in the public car park nearby.

Service was efficient and courteous.

Dave, thank you very much for taking the time to post a review of the Crystal Lodge following your recent vacation to Whistler. As you mention, there are a number of options for parking. In addition to the hotel's underground parking there is municipal parking for $10/ day as well as limited complimentary parking. With the ladder two options, guests are forgoing varying levels of convenience as they are a distance from the hotel. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
Kind regards,

Ian Lowe

We stayed 2 nights. Requested a room away from main square so it would be a bit quieter...as it was a long weekend. The room location was quiet - but walls very thin and you could hear muffled conversations next door. We had a nice outlook over the mountains with a small deck. Excellent Reception service. Small room, but has everything you need - except no room safe (free safety boxes a front desk though) and you need to request a kettle if you want to make tea (bags provided).
Ice machine near the lift. We loved the coin-operated washing machine and dryer! Very handy. This is a dog friendly hotel - not sure if that is really necessary in a hotel of this level?? Environmentally there are Recycle bins in the room + they offer to donate $5 to the David Suzuki Foundation if you choose to skip a days housekeeping in your room.
Finally - we found it HARD to find the entrance to the hotel! Dragging bags around + stairs everywhere...i suggest the hotel address this issue. Even when we knew where the main entrance was there were no directional signs to be seen. Hope the Hotel fixes this.

Room Tip: Mountain-view off main square

Thank you very much for such a detailed review of the Crystal Lodge. You have touched on several details that are not commonly known. I am also appreciative of your comment regarding the difficulty of finding the entrance of the hotel when walking from the bus loop. This has not been brought to out attention in the past however understand your concern and will look at adding additional signage to improve this.

The Crystal Lodge was very helpful at making my young family feel at home. They were able to help us with dining and attraction reservations. We had a wonderful stay with a great view of the mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved how each morning we could go to Starbucks in our pajamas and sit and look at the sun rising over the mountains. We had a wonderful stay at the Crystal Lodge. It was great for night life as well. Being in the center of Whistler we could walk to different restaurants and bars or just go for a relaxing stroll and people watch. The citta bar is in the hotel and a great place to sit and enjoy! I would recommend the Crystal to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay or dine in Whistler.

Room Tip: I booked online and then emailed back and forth with the front desk and was able to get an upgrade f...

Thank you for making your first TripAdvisor review! We are pleased that the Crystal Lodge made you and your family feel at home and also hope that our team was able to assist in making the most of your time here in the resort. You are one of the first guests to express how pleasant the village stroll is at sunrise and will admit that it is one of my favorite activities as the combination of views, song birds and smell of freshly brewed coffee is hard to beat. We look forward to you an your family returning in the future.

Perfect location in downtown Whistler for walking anywhere. The hotel staff is exceptional, front desk took care of every request with smiles and a genuine 'want to help' approach. I made reservations on-line and they made sure to accomodate my request for a room where the window/sliding glass doors did not face a wall. Housekeeping staff was also very accomodating. You have to pay extra for parking. Rooms are very small and have some age/use on them. That's the reason for the "average" rating. Staff deserves an "exellent" rating in my book.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not overlook a WALL!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review the Crystal Lodge following your recent trip to Whistler. We are so pleased that the service team left such a positive impression on both of you. We offer two distinctive products here at the Crystal Lodge and would recommend for travelers looking for additional living space and a much more contemporary design to steer towards the deluxe room & suite product.

This hotel has the best in customer service. They treat you right! We loved our stay and had the most comfortable beds! My dog was treated like a queen, thank you! I loved that we were in the HUB of the village and we had many restaurants to choose from on site and near by. This hotel prides themselves on cleanliness and service and it is evident. Will be back! :)

Room Tip: I had a dog so we stay in the older part of the hotel but the rooms are still quaint (smaller) but c...
