We booked a 2-family trip with older children (9-11 yr. olds.) The location was right in the heart of the village and just steps away from the gondolas. The staff was friendly, from the time we booked through reservations until our check-out time. The front desk staff was always available and more than willing to answer questions. The kids enjoyed the pool area after snowboarding, but it was a bit small. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was efficient. There was a bit of noise at night on the village stroll due to late-night outers/partiers. We upgraded to a larger room for a nominal fee, which allotted us a very large room with two queens and a pull-out sofa. Very worth the upgrade! Will return again for sure. Thanks Crystal Lodge for making our first visit to Whistler so memorable.

Location couldn't be better as it's located right in the heart of the village and literally 5 min. walk to the lifts. We booked the family package which included $50 Old Spaghetti Factory G/C, free movie rental/parking and late check out. We were a little hesitant to pay over $300 per night for a deluxe room that wasn't even a suite. But when we showed up, we decided to upgrade to a king bed with balcony for an extra fee and it was totally worth it!. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The outdoor pool was located right beside a bar which made it a little awkward seeing drunk people in our robes with our kid. But no big deal....didn't affect the overall experience. Lucky for us the Sauna was empty so we spent a good amount of time in there. Every staff member, especially the housekeeping made the experience pleasant and enjoyable. The onsite restaurant: Ric's Grill was amazing...Filet Mignon is highly recommended. You can be prepared to pay over $150 for dinner for 2 but you can expect perfection. We also ordered room service breakfast from the same restaurant and it was delicious. Nothing negative to say about this hotel. They do everything right. Day 1 snowboarding, Day 2 lounging. Perfect weekend getaway for locals.

Room Tip: If your picky like me, book a deluxe room or pay for the upgrade. If you think the fee is expensive...it is but you get what you pay for so it's totally worth it!

I stayed there for a couple of nights in April. I found that all the staff was very friendly, from the receptionist, cleaning, ski check, pretty much everyone was great. The location is in the heart of the main village less than a 3 minute walk to the lifts. It is hard to beat in that respect. The Crystal lodge was probably one of the first hotels built in what is currently known as whistler. When I visited for the first time in 1983 the current village was just getting built. The result of this is that the Crystal lodge has some limitations due to age. They have done a good job of keeping this up to date but noise transfer wasn't dealt with that well when it was built. The wall and doors seem to transmit quite a bit of sound. If you get a room with an adjoining door that also transmits sound. I really do like the location and staff but if you have to have perfect quiet to sleep don't stay here. If you can sleep easily then you will like it. The rooms are clean but small. Remember when the lodge was built. I would stay again if the price was right.

Room Tip: Get a room without an adjoining door, rooms facing the village walk may be noisy

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of the Crystal Lodge following your recent Whistler vacation. You are absolutely correct that our hotel is one of the original landmark hotels in the resort and actually frames the popular village stroll. The rooms located on the stroll provide fantastic 'people watching' however do allow additional ambient noise into the rooms. Fortunately our Courtyard rooms provide our guests with a more peaceful experience whilst not sacrificing on a central location. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.
Kind regards,
Ian Lowe

This is the second time I have stayed here. The location is superb with everything on the doorstep and ski lifts within 100m. The pool and hot tub area could be better and feels like a bit of an afterthought and the times I went the hot tub was full - perhaps another is needed? As eating out is getting so expensive in whistler it would be nice to have a kitchenette/microwave but I guess the more expensive rooms possibly do. Would recommend a room away from Main Street - a few late revellers woke me up on a number of occasions, not what you want when you are already suffering jet lag. Would recommend as a good value base in probably the best ski resort in the world.

Martin, thank you very much for your review and feedback. Our Traditional rooms are our only room type that do not offer any cooking facilities as all our other rooms offer at least a sink, microwave, fridge, crockery/ cutlery and kettle/ coffee maker. We also offer a selection of room types with fully equiped kitchens that would allow you to cook all meals in your suite should you be so inclined.
Thank-you,
Ian Lowe

This is my family's second trip to Whistler and though the weather was a little different with no snow in the village, it was still a fun and wonderful vacation...there are numerous activities to do and the mountaintop is full of snow. Ths accommodations were great as was our first experience. The staff in the villlage are courteous and helpful, always making you feel that they appreciate your visiting Whistler. My family is already planning our third trip to Whistler...

Thank you very much for your recent review of the Crystal Lodge. Traveling to Whistler in late winter or early spring can be quite an dynamic experience as the valley trail is busy with walkers and bikers however the mountain still has incredible snow conditions and can be epic powder followed by short-sleeve Spring Ski conditions on back-to-back days. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.

Kind regards,

Ian Lowe
