“Great value with Priceline booking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

Took the train up to Whistler for the weekend and could only stay Sat night. All the hotels I was finding were very expensive. Condo and vacation rentals wanted 2-3 night minimum stays. Finally bid on Priceline, although even they seemed to have very few hotels accepting bidding in Whistler. This was one of them. We got it for about half the normal rack rate, which made it great value. Hotel itself was very clean with great amenities and setup, especially kitchenette. Free breakfast was simple, but adequate, convenient and very nice to have. Downside: if you have 4 in a room, the other two have to use those uncomfortable queen pull out sofa beds. It is actually located on Blackcomb mountain, so you have to drive up to it or take the free bus shuttle, or a 15min uphill walk.

Had a one bed studio and it was perfect with full kitchen (dishwasher included). Nice couches to relax and watch TV - also a balcony with screen door to let cool summer night wind come in. Perfect to retreat at night and get away from busy Whistler.
Designated smoking section outdoor with benches and roof for rainy day. Continental breakfast included as cereals, fruits, toasts, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs and make your own waffle. Would stay again. Was perfect!

The suite was roomy, clean and comfortable, generous sized balcony with lovely view. Appreciated being away from swimming pool area due to potential noise. We only stayed 1 night, had we stayed longer, it was great having a fully furnished kitchen. The availability of free shuttle ensured that being further away from the village was not a problem. Good breakfast, great coffee!

Where their for 3 nights. The rooms are a nice size, but need updating. The wireless internet kept cutting in and out. There is a free breaky, but no bar or restaurant. There is a excellent free shuttle that will take you to and from the village every 30 mins. The parking is expensive and there is really no where to park overnite. Not really walking distance to village.

I booked this on line as it came up as one of literally hundreds when trying to find a place at Whistler BC Canada. In all honesty I was looking at price so as not to spend a lot of money just to go to sleep. After all, I am a camper and a boater, so we tend to get used to a minimalist overnight and take our pleasures in the features of the area we are visiting, not the pillows. I had skied there before but never taken time to enjoy the village ,nor during he summer.
The lodge was the last on this remote drive up Painted Cliff Road, just past the upper village area on a winding road.
Friendly staff, and very quick check in upon arrival, and a quick briefing of the hotel rules, and we were in our room.
prior to unpacking, within the first few minutes of arrival I requested a different room in the rear of the building, and within 5 minutes, I was met at the Door and moved to my requested position.Very accommodating .
This is a beautiful lodge set up for a family in a large room, with full amenities of a home.A complete kitchen with utensils, refrigerator, stove, coffee and coffee maker, wide screen TV,AND ALL IN A COMPLETE HOMEY FEEL, not like a small efficiency apartment. one must remember that most of these lodges are set up as time share, so availability is for move in conditions. If you know how long you are to stay, you could buy your food and be set up when you move in, or, the lodge is 40 feet from the FREE shuttle bus to the villages, with all the restaurants within 10 minutes. the shuttle is on a very quick rotation , going and coming,, and it saves the worry of parking in the Whistler village.Very full great breakfast is the only food service provided for at the lodge and is Included in your room fees.
The health club, is a few machines and mirrored walls, but the true tranquility of the place is the landscaped pool in the rear with an additional 2 hot tubs, and the soft clicking of the silent chair lift drifting 75 feet up.There are towels already for you at the pool deck, and you can come down to this area in the plush bathrobes already angling in your closet.

The only item that bothered me was the steep price for parking a car overnight, at 24$.
You can avoid this fee by parking a 5 minute walk down the hill as very many do, as it may be standard for the area, and not just this hotel. I did not enquire further about this

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the central back , although the front facing rooms are equal, and their...

I can't think of any negatives here that the hotel can control. The pool in summer is loaded with small children, so it's not really possible to relax poolside unless you drink heavily and have earplugs. Shoulder season and winter it's not so child-challenged.

Rooms are always neat and well kept. As suites the provided kitchenwares are sparse and of lower quality, but that's normal.

I return here often, and always enjoy it; free bus to/from the townsite (a 10-minute walk) lots of choice for free breakfast menu items, locked bike lockers for high end bikes, and much more. Parking spots are tight for even small cars, so if you have on of those SUV trucks (or ANY truck), you'll be challenged to fit it in the underground.

Room Tip: Valley view rooms offer special views.

I have stayed at this hotel annually at the end of the summer for years as it met my needs for my family and I. My last stay was dissapointing in that my young children both became sick with the flu and the Manager was not accomodating in regards to canceling the last night (3rd night) of our stay. We decided that the best thing for our family was to head home due to our children not being well and the Manager said there was nothing he could do about that night. He said that the next time we come back he will give us a "very good rate" to make up for it. We were not satisfied with this offer and after some time the Manager decided to give us a credit for the last night of our stay but that was "the best" he was able to do. My husband and I had no more time or energy to deal with the hotel as we needed to get our sick children home so we left with this credit, but are still unhappy about the situation. As I mentioned, this hotel has been a good spot for us over the years, but I am unsure if I would chose to stay again after I redeem my credit, because of their lack of flexibility and understanding of families, unexpected cancellations etc.
