My wife and I played both this course and Fairmont Chateau Whistler. I did enjoy Nicklaus and would play again, but Fairmont was my favorite because of the views and staff. Not that I can say anything negative about the staff at Nicklaus, just seemed the Fairmont folks were a little more friendly and ready to help. Also I rented clubs and thought the sleeve of "Noodles" was a little on the cheap side for what the rentals and round of gold cost.

Didn't like this course as much as the Chateau Whistler course. The fairways were open and homes were on some of the holes. But quite challenging!

Food was good, service too. Nice patio (good views) and fun atmosphere.
Restaurant's name is the Den. A good choice of food, wine and beer, they do a nice Prime Rib on Fridays - and the burgers are tops.

The course is fair and requires accurate tee shots, rough is 1 1/2 inches so if you miss the
fairway your OK. The first 16 holes are easy compared to 17 & 18. Have played there for ten years and the course is always in great shape and the greens putt pure. Very little elevation changes on the course, but the views of the mountains as a backdrop on almost every shot make the round something special.

We play a lot of golf , and whilst the course is fine for a one off... beautiful scenery, and friendly staff, we were disappointed in 1. poor signage- we were lucky we had a local playing with us otherwise good luck! 2. very slow play, -they allowed a mixed 5 some in front - no course should take close to 5 hours to play!
We did speak to the Marshall as well, but he placed blame on slow play of play three groups ahead..if that was the case- there is no excuse. speed up or pick up.. 3. high pricing- this course does not merit 150.00 price tag, if you can get on for half that its perhaps worth it but be prepared for resort style slow play. Over all just ok.
