Great location near all the comforts of the village. Didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food. Staff and service were excellent. Free shuttle to nearby areas was very helpful and always seemed available which was also great. Views are nice overlooking the golf club practice facilities. Stayed in a suite and the beds and pillows definitely need upgrading. Overall a freshening up is in order as can see and feel the wear and tear in the rooms.

We stopped in Whistler for a couple of nights before flying out of Vancouver. We had not been to Whistler before and just found the Westin on the internet, on arriving we found out that we had had out room upgraded :) we got a two bedroom suite which is perfect for us and the family, staff are friendly, location is great.

The hotel's location cannot be beat right at the foot of the mountain near the chairlifts. The staff are lovely , professional and offer great service from Chris who tended to our room to the front desk staff. The bed is very comfortable although a little too soft for me but my husband did find it "heavenly". My only complaint is the pillows but that applies to almost all hotels. The food at the pool bar/restaurant was very good and not crazy expensive. The pool area is very nice with lots of loungers. I can see where at peak season it would get crowded pretty quickly because it is small but it is very nice and very clean. The women's locker room had a nice steam room inside which was a great bonus. I loved it.

The room itself was perfect with the fridge - a very good size. The porter also had them come and remove the minibar which was very helpful as it gave us room for our own groceries. We got a great deal through Priceline but ended up upgrading to a room with a separate living room giving us and our teenager some space and privacy. The living room with sofa bed was a very nice size. The other bedroom was very tight but fine because we weren't spending time in our room anyways. We had a really nice view of the mountains.

All in all it was a great stay in a spectacular town.

The Westin is our "go-to" place to stay in Whistler. It's right by the lifts whether you are skiing or mountain biking. It's got a great gym/pool, stores and restaurants and it's a stones throw from the village. It's big and it's definitely not a boutique hotel and yes you have to pay for the parking ... but the service is good and the rooms are perfect for a winter/summer resort. Remember that it's not a "W" ... it's a great place to sleep while you enjoy one of the greatest resorts in the world.

Room Tip: West Tower if you want to be close to the pool, East if you want to be close to the lifts. Recommend...

Arrived after a long trip, staff couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely warm gas fire in the room, comfortable beds. Our room had full kitchen and plenty of room for family of four. Great location an easy walk to the village.

I don't think I would stay at the Westin Whistler again and I will tell you why: 1. Room 908 on the SPG floor was so warm the air conditioning couldn't keep up-a technician had to come and fix to problem which inconvenienced us for hours!. Think 27C inside. The room although recently refreshed looks tired. 2. Although dog friendly(no extra charge for fido) and the hotel provides dog bowls and a sleeping pillow- there is no place to tie up dogs near the spa/pool area and dogs can not be left in rooms unattended-so you can not use the spa or pool without paying a 30 dollar dog sitting fee. 3. The Hotel charges a 30 dollar parking fee!!!!!! 4. There is no free WIFI and breakfast is not included at least not on our plan. The initial special room rate which appears very reasonable can soon expand dramatically when you add in all the taxes and fees. So this was difficult to evaluate as some things were good others not so much. Perhaps an ordinary room would have been better that the hot (as in temperature) room with the high ceiling on the 9th floor.

Room Tip: In summer ask for a room on the shady side of the hotel or else your room will be Hot.

Dear brodie52,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I'm very sorry to hear that your stay left you feeling frustrated. Whistler can be an expensive destination, but we take care to price ourselves competitively among similar hotels. I must offer my personal apologies for the issues with your air conditioning. The high temperatures and lengthy repairs must not have made for a restful stay. Did you mention your frustrations to a manager or front desk agent? If not, please reach out to me directly at lisa.mccormick@westinwhistler.com.
