This is the second year we returned to the Westin in mid February. If you are a skier, the location is excellent. The Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas are just a few steps from the hotel. These gondolas bring you well up the mountain, where there is great skiing and access to other lifts. The rooms are very nice. We had a studio last year and a 1 bedroom this year. The 1 bedroom is a little more roomy for our family of 4. We really enjoy having a kitchen so that we can have a convenient breakfast and get out on the slopes. The outdoor pool also is very nice, but the hotel could use more than 1 outdoor hot tub during busy weeks. We also enjoyed the Aubergine Grill, which has excellent food and is reasonably priced for a family. We would not hesitate to return!

We stayed at the Westin for a long weekend to ski and relax. The staff were wonderful and truly made us feel special. I am a Platinum Starwood member and we were pleasantly surprised to find out we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom corner suite overlooking the gondolas. The room was perfect for two couples. We enjoyed having a kitchen and separate living room area to lounge in. The hot tub area was nice, but crowded. I would like to have seen more hot tubs outside...

The hotel manager recommend a restaurant for us to try for my birthday dinner (Rimrock Cafe). The food was excellent! This restaurant is not within walking distance from the hotel, but the Bellman was kind enough to shuttle us over there and pick us up after our meal. Excellent service :).

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the summer months.

Can't beat the location in the Village and steps from the gondola. Close to restaurants and cafes. The in-house Aubergine restaurant has a very nice breakfast buffet (pricey though at $28) with a great view and the Firerock Lounge has tasty burgers. Service was great throughout.
I stayed here mid-week so it wasn't as busy as a weekend, the hotel accommodated by giving me an early check-in at noon and a late check-out of 1PM.
Make sure to take advantage of the outdoor hot tub, great place to meet other guests, and the relaxing eucalyptus steam room. Parking is also pricey at $30/night (self park, $34 for valet), a tad more expensive than some other hotels, but this is a fact of life in Whistler.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Village can be loud at night due to the bands/music playing in the lounges and rest...

Stayed here 1 week and it was a great trip. The only con I can think of (not really con, but more of a tip) is that you should check the ski valet charges as there were multiple errors in ours (charged us for 3 sets of skis when there were only the 2 of us), charged us for ski valet when our skis weren't kept there and were in the store etc.

Rooms: we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, it had an oven, dishwasher and a stove (and microwave). spacious room, had a dining area and lounge as well. the bathroom was nice, clean and neat, no clogged drains. Our room had a good view of the village and the ski lifts. Good open view and the rooms were nicely decorated (with a homey feel).

Service: concierge made our daily dinner reservations (and changes) and helped us secure ziptrek and other reservations as well. Most helpful but at times the wait can be a tad long (they only have 2 servicing the ton of requests they get). staff in the lobby are very friendly and helpful as well, and the housekeeping staff do an amazing job (compared to some other places I stayed on this last ski trip!)

Location: a brisk 2 min walk (if that) will take you to the lifts/stores. Also close (too close) to the chocolate store....we stayed on 6/f and it was very quiet

Amenities: laundry, full gym (forget your gym gear, you can get it at the gym) and pool. Shuttle (private shuttle) took us to our restaurants every night without fail. ski valet picks up the skis at the base of the mountain in front of the ski school, but in the morning you'll have to pick them up from the hotel.

This is my third stay at the Westin at Whistler and enjoyed the hotel immensely as always. We enjoyed the sushi restaurant and bar--great food at both. I love the ski valet--it feels so decadent to drop the skis at the base of the mountain, which is only steps away from the hotel--you can't get any closer! The spa was nice, but there were a lot of kids in the hot tub. On a rain day appreciated the gym. Our room had a small kitchenette which was perfect for preparing breakfast and on-mountain lunches, which saved us quite a few dollars. We didn't have a table though so my husband ate at the desk and I perched on the couch--minor inconvenience. Watch where you put stuff in the fridge as things freeze if they are anywhere near the freezer section. The bed was so plush and comfy--great to sink into after a hard day skiing. I also appreciated the deep tub which was perfect to soak in when I was chilled.

Room Tip: I think they are all good.

Thank you for sharing this delightful review with us and our future guests. We always love hearing from guests who experienced all that the hotel and the local area has to offer. Thank you for your comments for our convenient ski valet, delectable dining options, and in room/hotel amenities. The Westin Heavenly Bed is designed to provide our travelers with the much needed rest and relaxation they crave after a long day of traveling or in your case skiing. We appreciate your insights regarding the layout of the kitchenette and the hot tubs and we will look into these recommendations. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Whistler.

First off the location is fantastic, right at the base of the mountain yet off to the side so its quiet enough from the crowds outside. Stayed on the 3rd floor, rooms were quiet and very clean. A bit of modernization would have been nice. Bed was very comfortable, especially after a hard day of snowboarding. Did not cook this trip but if I had to I could, not a full size kitchen (especially the fridge) but I could have made due.

Breakfast buffet was $28 a day and had your standard fare, I do however want to mention that service was a tad slow one day and for $28 I would have expected better sausages. What was there was dry and tasted awful. The omelettes however were great!

$8 a day for storage of snowboards (no choice really since equipment isn't allowed in the room) is a bit pricey but they do allow dropping them off at the base of the Whistler gondola so you don't have to walk it all the way back, even if it's not very far.

Internet is available, they offer free internet which they state is basically only good for checking email (speed is restricted), or you can pay the $9.99 per day for 2mb up/down. I opted for paying and I found the speeds more than acceptable for hotel wifi.

Staff were excellent, each time dealing with them was pleasant and very professional.

Overall an excellent experience, by no means the cheapest place to stay but well within my expectations of a Westin hotel.
