“Great Staff Service, Unbeatable Location !”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

The hotel is in the centre of Whistler Village in a very convenient location, steps away from the convention centre and both mountain gondolas, Whistler and Blackcomb.

The room was very clean with all the amenities need it, I like the fire place inside the rooms.

The staff at the hotel was amazing, great service and willing to help. one morning during my stay there, I wanted a coffee but the free coffee on the lobby was over, but one of the staff from the front desk saw that, and offered to get me one from their restaurant, which was very nice of him.

A really nice place to stay in Whistler !

I admittedly compare this Westin with the Fairmont Whistler, and the Westin wins by a thin margin. Great hotel, modern, excellent staff, less pretentious than other high end resorts around the Village. The all suite hotel's units are very well maintained, and staff aim to please. This will be our go-to for our Whistler weekends.

My girlfriend and I have been coming to this hotel every year going for 6-7 years now. This is our favorite hotel to stay at in Whistler because of its top-notch, super convenient location - it really sets this place apart from other hotels in the area. Here are the few things you need to know

Location
The Westin is located right next to the main ski lifts that lead up to Blackcomb and Whistler. Perfect for getting to the ski lifts early and getting back to the hotel after a long day on the mountain. Also, the location is right at the entrance of the village, which isa big plus for evening out for dinner and drinks (but you're not so deep in the village where you may be right by traffic or any potential crowds). Another big plus about the location is that its super easy and fast to drive into the hotel vs. some of the other hotels where it can be a tad more confusing and trickier to get into because its deeper into the village.

Rooms
The rooms themselves are pretty nice. We've been fortunate enough to be upgraded in prior years to 1 bedroom suites. These rooms have a bedroom with full size bed and a living room with a pretty good pull-out couch with plenty of blankets and pillows. The suites come with a kitchen and dining table which comes in handy. One thing to note is that they have a policy in which you are not allowed to bring skis and snowboards into the rooms themselves. Overall, the rooms are well-designed with a nice homey, ski-lodge feel.

Pools / Fitness
Pretty standard here. There is a pool that has an interior part which feeds into an outdoor pool - both are heated and well maintained. There are two hot tubs - one inside and one outside. It gets a little busy in the afternoon/evening as the hot tubs themselves are a tad small. It doens't become that big of an issue but I've seen other 4/5 star hotels offer more hot tubs in Whistler. Other amenities are fitness center with all the standard equipment, sauna/steam room.

Ski Valet
The hotel requires you to check in your skis and snowboards at their ski valet. The nice thing is that they also set up a tent at the ski lifts to take in your boards/skis and they will bring back to the hotel everyday so you don't have to lug it back. Main downfall is that it costs $8 per day per skis/snowboards so unfortunately they get you with the fees. Its a nice service, but a little pricey particularly given its mandatory

Parking/Valet
Unfortunately, parking fees are a bit steep here - $30 per night for self-park, $34 for valet. Again, a little steep given that most people here will park. I think other hotels in the area also charge, but this just feels a little steep.

Overall
At the end of the day, you stay here because the awesome location and well-designed / comfortable rooms. These two points alone make it very much worth it to stay here and a favorite hotel of ours for our vacation. We've generally gotten good rates here but it's highly dependent on what time of the year you go and when you book. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this place. This place would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the mandatory ski valet fees and expensive parking fees. We'll be back next year and the year after that!

My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago in a junior studio suite. It was well appointed, had a very comfortable Heavenly bed, and it was very quiet in the suite. Our favourite perk was using the Eucalyptus steam room in the pool area. This is our second time staying here and I'm glad to see that since the last time we stayed, you now need to use your room key to access the pool and fitness area. A few years ago, no such access was required, thus leading to what I suspect was a lot of use by locals who weren't staying there.

Staff is extremely friendly, rooms (suite) are well equiped and updated.

Would definitely return when ski season is in full swing.

This is a great property with all the bells and whistles that you can think of. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo. Rooms are big, beds are really heavenly, the location cannot be better, the fireplace is cozy. We did not cook but I can see this as being a problem if someone wanted to make big meals. The kitchen is small. Also we stayed in the East tower so the walk to the swimming pool is quite long. All the staff are amazing, very helpful for any silly request.

My husband and I stayed at the Westin for an anniversary trip and could not be happier with our hotel choice.

The hotel sits just off the beaten path, which we loved. I read so many horrible reviews about noise levels during the late hours for the hotels that were literally in the village. We wanted to be close to the action but did not want it to keep us awake!
The Westin was the perfect solution because it was close enough to everything, but not noisy. When you look at a map of the village, it looks like it would take forever to walk from the Westin to the other end of the village. Well trust me, it takes like 15 minutes!
Whether you are skiing or sightseeing, the gondolas are right outside the back of the building as well.
The rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and yes quiet.
If you are looking for a nice hotel close enough to everything that is Whistler, I would recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for room that is higher up for a better view.
