Whenever I stay in Whistler(which is often) I generally start the day with a jog around Lost Lake. The nature trail is a nice little single track with enough roots, rocks, ups and downs to make it a short but challenging run while having a view of the lake to motivate

As luck would have it my husband and I stayed at Horstman House in the Upper Village not knowing that the free shuttle bus stopped across the street and that the trail to Lost Lake was a quick walk away. A friendly walker who knew the area well struck up a conversation with us as we walked through filtered light, green trees, a stream and then the beautiful Lost Lake. Many were gathered here for picnic lunches, visiting with friends and witnessing the annual Tadpole-To-Frog process taking place on the shore. This annual event is protected by woven fencing and barriers to keep the froglets from harm. There were people paddleboarding, swimming, kayaking and people who biked in for awhile.

A nice easy stroll from whistler village through the woods. Not busy and lots of wildlife around. Saw eagles and was there when the migrating western toads were crossing. Worth it for a break from the village

I visited this beautiful lake in August. Weather was amazing which makes the hike nicer and easier. You have few options how to get there. We did the hike through the forest. It was very nice. Area around the lake is beautiful. You can bring your dog with you as well. Bring also some snack and drinks as there is only one water fountain next to the toilets.

Lost Lake makes for a nice walk to get away from the bustle of the village, and our teenagers love the place to spend an afternoon at the lake with tanning and swimming and chatting during hot summer days.
