Did you know that this hotel admits to frequently losing guests on their booking system. They lost us - and then decided that we were illegally in the 2 bedroom suite. At 9.30pm security entered my 8 year old nephew's room and tried to evict him (he was asleep at the time). They then tried to evict the baby sitter. When she explained that we were eating downstairs in the bar, they then tried to evict my 3 and 5 year old children by entering the other bedroom door. If this is not bad enough, they did not tell us THAT A LONE MALE SECURITY GUARD HAD ENTERED THE BEDROOM 9.30PM to do this. Just imagine if you had gone to bed after a hard day skiing and woken up to find a stranger in your bedroom! Then imagine how we feel, knowing this happend to our young children. When we reported this to the hotel management, they wasted our time on internal proceedures. Finally they had offered us $200 CAD in Fairmont vouchers. We spent nearly $5000 CAD, so this is nothing but an insult, particularly as they did not activate the Presidants Club vouchers with a value of over $700CAD. Terrible hotel, terrible attitude. We left a day early (we planned to extend by 10 days) - even leaving took nearly 2 hours and they lost one ski helmet. A disaster. The Four Seasons was simply fabulous - I highly recommend booking there instead.

I called whistler.com as I had the opportunity on a recent trip to Vancouver, BC to go skiing for a day at Whistler/Blackcomb, they gave me a great deal on a one night stay at this fancy hotel. I have stayed at Fairmonts before but didn't expect to get this good of a rate (around 140 CDN per night). We scooped it up. BUT it wasn't all that. The cost of the food that wasn't great and the place looked nice in the lobby but the rooms were kinda dingy and not what you would expect from a Fairmont.
Staff was great. Nice and helpful, but still, I would have preferred to stay somewhere with cheaper restaurants/parking, and the biz ctr. didn't open early enough. come on, when you are at a ski place people get on the hills early, you should have it open before the lifts so we can send out our emails and faxes before hitting the hills.
Overall good if you can get a rate like we did but don't spend that big bucks, you will be unsatisfied, not good value.

With a terrible cold and a winter storm in the forecast, I was determined to enjoy my Birthday weekend with my fiance at the Chateau Whistler as planned - I am so glad that I did. We have been to the Chateau many times in the past and it has always been a great choice.
Hot tubbing outside in the snow with a view of the mountain is unbeatable...but then there's steam room, sauna, fluffy, comfy bed and the fabulous chocolate fondue for two in the lounge...yum.
The hotel is located in the quieter part of the resort area but is still within walking distance of the shopping area/restaurants which makes it peaceful yet convinient. A word of caution is that the hotel parking is pricy at around $22/night.

Overall a great visit. The hotel is very nice, fanastic service. The room was a little dated and not quite what was expected. The pool/gym area was good, and better than expected though. Depending on price might consider the Four Seasons instead next time (Very nice, newer). I didn't eat at the hotel myself, but girlfriend had a few meals there and quite enjoyed it. Location is good, but on the Blackcomb side so not quite in the village but only a short walk. Overall, would recommend.

This is a dream romantic location, whether in winter or summer. The access to Whistler vllage is perfect and a moonlit walk back to the hotel is definetely worth a try. The hotel does provide a complimentry shuttle service also at your convenience. The restaurants and amenities are superb as is the heated outdooor pool with waiter service. You simply must have a tipple at night snuggled up in the provided blankets by the firepit...a nice spot to propose....meet nice people or simply soak in the ambience. We are dying to try this hotel for Christmas..as it is so dreamy!

Best service we have ever had at a hotel. Even though we were there for the busy holiday weekend they treated us like we were the only ones there. Golf course is awesome!

I stayed here with my husband and 2 young children over the August long weekend and we had a really great time. It's a 5 star hotel, but casually elegant, no pompousness at all. The staff were very accommodating with all our needs, right down to getting us polysporin ointment and medical supplies when our 3 year old had a bicycle vs tree 'incident'. The pool area was great too, kids loved the outdoor pool and numerous hot tub areas, and it seemed to be a very popular place the entire sunny weekend. We felt like we were in a Caribbean or Hawaiian resort, if it weren't for the majestic mountain backdrop! Food service staff were courteous and relatively quick considering how busy it was, and the portions were huge! We enjoyed a buffet breakfast in the terrace garden by the waterfall one morning. We found the hotel to be very kid-friendly. Rooms were clean and have been updated, we were in a standard double-double room and there was adequate space for us. There's good storage for bikes/trailers downstairs too.
