We live in Vancouver and took advantage of the gorgeous weather to visit Whistler for a one night stay. We booked through Amex travel as part of the Fine Hotels and Resorts (FHR) program and wow did the Fairmont take good care of us. FHR, available through select American Express cards, allows for a number of great benefits including early & late check-out, room upgrades and more.

We checked in early and were greeted by a huge upgrade to a suite overlooking Blackcomb mountain. After we settled in, we were greeted by one of the staff with a welcome note and a welcome gift (a piece of birthday cake for my 4 year old son - I had mentioned the occasion to the concierge prior to arrival). The room was well-prepared for us including a crib and infant amenities for bathing our 6 month old. We visited the pool, hot tub and later sat for dinner at the Wildflower restaurant. The food and service was great. The King bed in the room was extremely comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast the next morning, again at the Wildflower, was a delectable buffet with attentive service and everything you could ask for for a sumptuous breakfast. We took in some skiing (the hotel's backyard is the base of Blackcomb) and were back in the hot tub later in the afternoon. Overall, this was extremely good value for money and a very high level of service at the Fairmont Whistler. Everyone we encountered, from the housekeeping staff to the concierge, were extremely helpful. We look forward to returning.

Room Tip: This property is great when using the FHR program through American Express.

Spent the weekend at the Fairmont Chateau and it exceeded every expectation. The staff was friendly and helpful and went above and beyond during a very busy time (Spring Break and TedX were both happening that weekend). We spent an afternoon at the pool and hot tub - the facilities were great and the beverage service poolside was fantastic. The lounge had very good Friday night entertainment, the food was delicious and Louise our server was attentive and helpful.

I would highly recommend the Fairmont for a relaxing getaway.

I live in Vancouver and recently stayed for a weekend getaway at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and had an amazing stay. I have stayed at a few hotels in Whistler on previous stays and honestly I will only be staying at the Fairmont from now on. The hotel was buzzing with atmosphere; I definitely had the impression that I was staying at the “happening place.” I am an avid snow boarder so the ski in/out location was perfect for me and exactly what I wanted, I’m lazy and do not enjoy walking to the lifts so this was a nice perk. I booked a room on the Fairmont Gold floor; the staff there were exceptional, my room had its own fireplace which really added to the mountain getaway. The lounge itself was great value, it was not really much to upgrade to stay on the floor, I really enjoyed the breakfast; being my favourite meal of the day I am quite critical and it was very substantial. Thanks again for a great stay, I’ll definitely be back.

Here for a ski. 4 nights. Fairmont gold at nearly 800 per night. To be honest, not worth it...hr. Suite claustraphobic...rooms very dry and cannot control the heat. The gold level is not worth it....wanted you to pay north of 15 cad for a glass of wine. Let me get this straight...we have a sure on your gold level with lounge access and you want me to pay for a glass of wine? Next time ....Four Seasons.....thx.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Thank you for sharing your feedback and we are very sorry to hear that your expectations were not met during your stay. As a landmark property within the resort, we strive to preserve the classic alpine setting of the hotel along with continuous upgrades and enhancements. We are concerned to hear that you were unable to get a consistent temperature in your guestroom throughout your stay, that is certainly not up to our normal standards.

I truly appreciate your valuable feedback and can assure you that your comments have been taken seriously and will be beneficial in assisting us in the future.

Spring Break at the Chateau was the best decision that we could have made. Our entire family, including the teens had a marvelous time at the Health Club: the pools, hot tubs, exercise room, steam baths, sauna and amazing staff made our day away from the ski hill a re-energizing experience. We can't wait to return.

I spent a week in Fairmont Chateau for an International Conference. The very first view of the hotel itself is a breathtaking experience. Situated right in the base of the mountain covered with snow all around, it provides an amazing place to spend your holidays or a business meet. Easy shuttle transfer from Vancouver airport. Very good sight seeing place all around. Whistler village is just 10 minutes walk from the hotel where one can find lot of places to eat and hang around. The most common thing about the hotel is "ski", everyone in the hotel with ice boot on, ready to go out and ski. Room is very beautiful with amazing view outside. Nice bathroom and amazing bed. I was provided with free wi-fi and complementary breakfast which was not common and cost a lot to other people. Nice spa and heated pool. Extremely friendly staff ready to help anytime. One of the best hotel I have ever been to, strongly recommended.

Well we splurged for a couple nights in a gold suite at the Chateau and it was well worth it-for us anyways! The ski/boot storage is really efficient. The restaurants are great and the best is the gold lounge on the 8th floor with your own concierge. Here you get a great breakfast-the full eggs and bacon thing if you like, then in the evening they have appys with drinks(honour bar) and then dessert later-all part of the deal with such excellent service and friendly people. We had a non-skier in the group and they enjoyed the lounge whilst we others skied. The hot tubs/pool were super with a persistent bartender who just kept the drinks coming. This is not a place to be worrying about a budget for sure!

Room Tip: Go for the gold suite if budget is not an issue!
