A gift from my younger son, my wife and I were treated to a weekend in Whistler. The hotel is first rate as you would expect. Greeted at the front desk by the charming and efficient Melissa we were settled in our room in minutes of our arrival. The room was very pleasant with a wonderful view of the mountains. Everything was neat ,clean and comfortable as well as quiet.
The concierge arranged tickets for us for the famous Peak[Whistler] to Peak[Blackcomb] gondola ride. A breathtaking experience but not for those afraid of heights.
The hotel of course is beautiful nestled there in the mountains and was obviously running at full capacity .We ate at several venues in town and the only disappointment was The Wildflower in the hotel. Several friends had recommended it but we found the preparation and service was lacking. Perhaps they were worn out by dinner time. We would of course recommend the experience to everyone not on a budget.

Room Tip: Upgrades can be reasonably priced

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a fabulous visit. The staff were very informative and helpful in planning activities, during our stay. We were slope side, on the 8th floor, and it was so pleasant to wake up to the view every morning. the restaurants were relaxing, with great food and service. Enjoyed being within walking distance of the village, but away from hustle and bustle. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room with a slope side view

Very pleased with the service especially on the gold floor. For the size of the place the outdoor pool was surprisingly small but overall, very clean and comfortable. Lovely facilities and everything works! One night there was noise in another room and we asked about it and it was dealt with instantly. Hop and a skip to the village but far enough away from it that you get some peace at night.

I was surprised to see a rotten fruit behind the curtain! The room was clean but when I opened the curtains to admire the breathtaking mountain view, there it was, a welcome gift: a rotten fruit that I can't even identify what it was. Also the room has very limited electric outlet. The only available outlet was next to the toilet, there is no outlet on the bathroom sink either.

Dear Gary,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your recent visit. Basically a large soulless hotel that looks grand but doesn't quite pull it off. Outdoor pool very small and surrounded by loungers so crammed together you can hardly walk between them. That said not sure why you would swim in it in summer when there are a number of fabulous lakes near by. $35 a day parking is steep and location is not ideal if you want easy access to main village. Rooms are nice enough although robes would have been nice for the price. We were visiting after a number of nights in Mariott pinnacle Vancouver where rooms and service were far superior.

Similar to the fabulous lakes that surround the resort our poolside venue spots a scenic view our Coast Mountain Range however in difference to those same lakes, our swim in/out pool, four spa tubs and outdoor lap pool are fully serviced with a bountiful food and beverage selection, steam rooms and sauna ideal for the perfect mountain oasis only a short seven minute stroll from the main village. We had a very nice extended family stay with adjoining rooms. We were on the fourth floor at the very end of the hall way which was a long walk from the elevators but worth it as we had one of the very few rooms that had a large patio with table and four comfortable chairs. It was great to be able to sit out on the patio. The pool area is very nice but busy on a hot summer day. All the staff we came in contact with throughout the hotel were very friendly.

The location is at the base of Blackcomb which is an easy 5-10 min walk to the main village. It is much quieter at night in this area so I prefer it to the main village. The area outside the hotel is great for kids as there are many (paid) activities for them to do. There is a Milestones restaurant next door which offers good quality but reasonably priced meals in a nice setting.

We stayed at the Hotel for 2 nights and enjoyed our time there enormously. Reception staff were helpful and attentive, and our room was comfortable and clean. We had a 5th floor room with a view over the slopes which made it light and bright but the furnishings were somewhat dark and dated after the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver. The pool area was quite small but again the area was clean and well serviced although getting somewhere to sit in the afternoon was almost impossible. The hotels location is great giving access to the slopes, lower village and various trails.
